Te Voy Hacer Picadillo

Please forgive egregious Resident Evil 4 reference in the entry-title, it’s just that we’ve been holed up in the house with a Gamecube and a fully-stocked liquor cabinet all winter. The first of this year’s several tours has now been fully booked and here’s how it’s gonna go:
March
04 – Gate City Noise, Greensboro, NC (solo)
23 – Emo’s, Austin, TX
24 – Mary Jane’s Fat Cat, Houston, TX
25 – Rubber Gloves, Denton, TX
26 – Space 1110, Lubbock TX
27 – The Opolis, Norman, OK
29 – JR’s Lightbulb Club, Fayetteville, AR
30 – Jackpot Saloon, Lawrence, KS
31 – Sokol Underground, Omaha, NE
April
01 – The Maintenance Shop, Ames, IA
02 – Beloit College – Pearson’s Hall, Beloit, WI
04 – Catacombs Coffeehouse, Madison, WI
06 – Hi-Tone, Memphis, TN
07 – Martin’s Lounge, Jackson, MS
08 – Red Star, Baton Rouge, LA
09 – House of Blues, New Orleans, LA
We’re proud to be bringing Durham heartthrobs The Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers along with us for most of these dates, even as we, along with most of the NATO countries and several prominent religious leaders, lament their choice of a bandname.

In other news:
The Sunset Tree, The Mountain Goats’ new album, will be released in the UK on 25 April and in the rest of the world on the 26 April, on the wonderful 4AD label. It’s got thirteen songs:
You or Your Memory
Broom People
This Year
Dilaudid
Dance Music
Dinu Lipatti’s Bones
Up the Wolves
Lions Teeth
Hast Thou Considered the Tetrapod?
Magpie
Song for Dennis Brown
Love Love Love
Pale Green Things

There will be a limited-edition vinyl version of the album featuring home-recorded versions of most of the songs and a few LP-only adult-contemporary love jams. The vinyl edition will be available from the band on tour and from a few select mailorders – though, nota bene, it won’t be available on the tour we were just talkin’ about, because its release date is the same as the CD. No copies will be available directly from us via mailorder, and we will not be answerin’ any e-mail inquiries about the vinyl, because we are cranky hermits with a bad video-game jones and a nasty jujube habit. It’s going to be a fun spring – see you all soon!
