New Testament was originally written in Greek. Old Testament went Hebrew --> Greek ("Septuagint" until Jerome translated it into Latin (mostly based on the Hebrew original is my understanding).

Yeah, I'm just reading the LA Times article now. As a local reader, I consider them only slightly more reputable than TMZ (said facetiously), so it's not looking great for him.
I was just listening to some of his hits earlier today (for work, as it were). Whatever else he was, he certainly had that pop music thing down.

But still -- the official report is not breathing at the scene and that paramedics were administering CPR en route to the hospital. It's not like he's a fit dude -- so that sounds fairly fatal to me.

Should we amend this to be RIP Farrah and Michael?
Or maybe we can wait 'till something more reputable than TMZ confirms it...
Edit: Posted this before I saw what the above link was to...

If I could make a living by saying retarded shit on TV, I sure would. I have trouble blaming her for gaming the system so darn well.
Now, of course, I base this on the assumption that no human being could ever actually believe the things she says. And I have to maintain that assumption or Fox gets a lot scarier.

Yeah, but none of those artists have "Young" or "Lil" in their name, so that's something.
But man, that's a thin silver lining. Even if you could handle every other band on that list, Hoobastank is hard to explain away.

Heh, but it confirms your view that ZM sounds like it should follow HGS. So, ultimately, you were right.

Maybe I'm reading your post wrong and/or remembering wrong, but I thought ZM did in fact come out after HGS?
Minnesota is an often cited favorite song by many (certainly in my top tier), so it's probably gotta be reasonably accessible.
But I think whatever your favorite album is, it's hard to argue with the Sunset Tree as an impeccable first choice. It's nearly impossible to top that kind

As someone with a lot of inside knowledge of this case, I won't comment too extensively.
But I'm laughing my ass off. She could've settled for pennies by comparison to the actual verdict (as everyone but her who's ever been sued by the RIAA has done), and she was unquestionably guilty as charged.
I'm big into intellectual property and I don't begrudge the recording companies their share.

Haven't been around here much lately, but need to pop back in to add to the choruses of "I got mine and it's omgwtfawesome."
They are super awesome. Thanks so much guys... I've been sort of down on the tMG-verse in general lately, so these are a much needed reminder of what a great community we have.

Apprehended!
I'll a to that.
Anyone else been following this? I was there when it happened... we 'fled' to New Haven this afternoon after a day of quasi-lockdown. Was weird times.
As good a reason as any for a bump I guess?

My cry for T-shirts still stands. There's nothing on eBay worth getting that I don't already have except for a certain cassette.
(there're some old threads in the tour section that have pictures of at least some of the more recent shirts, which have been at the very height of badass. And to tide you over 'till the next tour, buy some markers and a $5 shirt from Target )

The first ones I learned were:
Weekend In Western Illinois
Linda Blair Was Born Innocent (you totally can play this one, it's pretty easy to get the gist, just ignore the cool bass line)
Letter from Belgium / Southwood Plantation Road
Chanson du bon Chose
Tragically, I'd just stay away with some of the much older stuff (sadly like ZM) because

QuoteRedDwarfQuoteSaveMeASeatThe consistent message has been "it's not as limited as yall seem to think" so just keep checking in.
I've been 'checking in' and somehow missed that so who knows.
I guess that's not that surprising. People really shouldn't be expected to be constantly checking into a nearly 20 page thread that is mostly just people yellin' about stuff.

Yeah I don't dig the vibe in this thread at all.
Dude came and politely asked for something that is totally fair come to talk about on the forum and didn't happen to check the right button in his privacy settings.
You don't have to go through some kind of ritualistic bonding experience to be a part of this forum. You just have to register an account. He posted a reasonable request, and

I think it's a personal flaw that I value Wurster as much as I do. But I do. And it really adds a lot for me when he's present.
Edit: And obviously PPH times a million, but that goes without saying. I just really dig the full band feel with the intermittent solo stuff. Eh, I dunno, variety is always good, so I'm down with whatever.

Even the non veterans should attest that 2008 was beyond badass, surely? It's got the brilliant end of the Heretic Pride tour in San Fransisco and the Kaki King tour + fun times solo sets when they were more exotic, you know?

Consistently my favorite album. Sometimes nudged out of the way by WSABH and ZM, but still. I count Weekend in Western Illinois, Minnesota, and It's All Here In Brownsville to be among my top five or so tMG songs. The latter two I translated into Latin and Greek because I was bored for such great lengths of time in my classes, but that's a different matter.
For me, the album is similar to

It's the nature of the holiday. I was not in a very coordinated place yesterday. Posting would have been hard. I kind of wanted to, at one point, and then I didn't anymore.
It was also raining which was lame. Had to chill on balconies and the like. Saturday (ZHD) was way more fun... it was a weekend and there was more sun. And for those of us who don't tend to trip, it's the same as 4/20

It ain't that hard to read this thread back and figure out who the first douche to ruin the otherwise stimulating conversation was. Though I can't stand to become more of a broken record, so I'll refrain from my standard, conveniently acronymed, "WC QFT" post.

But, since we have several reputable sources confirming that some will be available via mail order at some point or another, perhaps this would be an indication that they're saving a bunch/some for that.
And maybe all the people freaking out and selling their children so people in Iowa would buy them an extra copy have caused them to run out of the "set aside for the tour" batch earl
