It's been way too long since I started a topic here. Been busy moderating at The Political Forums. Politics has always been a big interest of mine, so I thought I'd start a thread about it.
As far as the Stat eof the Union Address goes, will anyone be watching? Personally I'm pretty psyched that Rand Paul is gonna be delivering a response.
Edit: If link is not absolutely kosher I'll take

i definitely think more republicans should vote third party.
Believe it or not that's more or less what I've been asking for. It doesn't make sense for republicans to vote for a big government neo con like Mitt was in a state like California where the result is determined long before the election happens. They should vote for third party candidates like Johnson or Goode if they wan

Nice. I like her. I'd rather have her than 4 more years of Bush's foreign policy/anti terrorist policy, even if I don't agree with her on most economic issues.

Perfect! Thanx K-Code!
I live in a decidedly Romney state *hangs head in shame* so I wanted to vote 3rd party and send my vote out to help increase the chance of another option one day.
I almost could vote for Obama but I just cant get passed the passing of the NDAA under his watch.
that's totally worth allowing romney to bind women up for years

From what I understand, in order to allow a third party candidate to participate in the debates and receive Federal Funding, etc., they need a percentage of the vote. Does anyone know if its a percentage of the popular vote or the electorial vote?
Or am I just completely wrong on that?

Personally I realize the third parties aren't viable, but I would like to see Libertarians cost the Republican party more elections. Now I'm with you. (but for very different reasons)
Really, though, life is full of shitty choices.
The Republican party used to be something I could get behind. My favorite President of the 20th century is Calvin Coolidge.

There was a debate among the third party candidates moderated by David Lettermen, if you're interested.

i still haven't seen a reason to vote for romney.
is it because he has no plan and nobody knows where he stands or where he will stand?
I have one and only one reason and then I'm getting out of this thread.
It'd really piss off my ex.

Hey, if you're not worried about getting your favorite of the two major candidates in office, why not vote for your favorite third party? If you fall on the Left, Rocky Anderson and Jill Stein have both demonstrated great character. Virgil Goode is a hard line Constitutionalist, and Gary Johnson is probably the most electable Libertarian candidate in recent history.

i'm not sure i could "like" a candidate when i don't know "who" they are, what they stand for, what their plans are, how their math works....etc. i certainly can't trust somebody like that. who really knows what the hell they'll do.
as for jobs, is obama's currently slow growth (coming out of a huge hole that wasn't dug for him) worse than going back to bush

i dunno about that. all i care about is job creation (private sector to be more specific), and I think he might do better than President Obama on that, not worse.
I suppose if you zero in on private sector job creation you might come to that conclusion.

Well, the US really isn't set up for more than two parties, so a vote for Johnson is still going to screw us. Sorry. Just about everything wrong with Obama, Romney is worse.
I know the winner take all, plurality style elections of the US won't allow for more than two parties. While I think Obama is probably worse (even though both are basically terrible) my protest vote for Johnson

I also love Atmosphere, POS, Dessa, Nyle and Wu Tang Clan.

I gotta admit, I put that one on because I was in an inexplicably sad mood. I'm not sure whether I like that one or Highway 61 more, the two are always changing as my favorite depending on my mood.
