Adventures in airports.

You could notice the books in the airport for sale:
ALIVE
Some book about flight 93 and its final moments.

I would not be chill reading those while flying.

Urban Sprinting

Except this would be a pretty terrible idea in an airport.

BUMP

I will be in the atlanta airport until 10pm tonight. Right now my goal is visiting every burrito place in every terminal. So far I have visited Moe's Southwestern Grill, where I had a bean burrito with guacamole and pico de gallo and all available vegetables. Where is next? Will update regularly.

LI, if you have 10 hours in atlanta, you could always take the MARTA a few stops to Little 5 Points (about 40 minutes), where within a 5 minute walk of the train station, they have an excellent vinyl store, several vintage clothes store, and a great vegetarian indian restaurant.

Is the vinyl store Rebel Music? I think I'm gonna go. I don't particularly feel like hanging out in concourse C until 10 tonight.

find someone to joust with on the moving sidewalk. if possible, get a crowd of people to gather off of the sidewalk to watch and yell "HUZZAH!" when you and your opponent collide.
September 28, 2009 08:37PM | Re: Adventures in airports.
I have not noticed any moving sidewalks in Atlanta, at least in this concourse.

I hear tell the number of spring shows I get to go to is linearly related to the number of free tickets I obtain from airlines. I hope I obtain more.

Pretty sure the only reason I went to ZoopII is a free ticket I obtained from an airline.

Flying back from California, we were stuck in O'Hare airport at 3am after a connecting flight didn't depart for some reason. They wouldn't give us cots, and we were stuck outside of the terminal. So we had to sleep in the foyer, on luggage carts. All the local hotels were full, surprisingly. At least that is what I was told.

Being 3am I figured no one would mind if I borrowed a wheelchair. So I grabbed one and tooled around. I went to the giant CONNECTING FLIGHTS television array and found that they are normal televisions. They have buttons, with channels, and you can change them if you want to. I wanted to and did, so I watched some chick get the snot beat out of her in a Lifetime original movie, the Weather Channel and the Tony Danza show all at the same time.

Later I learned to race luggage carts up and down and before the night was over I strung three of them together and made myself a bed.

Never fly American airlines.

Oddly enough I'm in Jacksonville right now for work and will be flying back on Friday. I have just enough time to visit the costume shop and get a prisoner outfit.

Shave. Let your beard grow again. Shave again. Let it grow again, but longer than the first time. Make a pillow of your shaved beard. Sleep.

Oh, man. I'm flying with a 6 week old next week. That will be an adventure in an airport.
December 11, 2012 03:33PM | Re: Adventures in airports.
at least they're free. and little tiny babies catch a lot more slack if they cry than a two year old. two year olds can be downright abusive about their crying, and should not be free. i think quiet kids should be free. kids that cry, really really expensive.

that'll learn'em!

Man, I totally forgot about that final post she made.

Yeah. Umm. Miranda and Thom haven't been together for a little while now. It was, umm, a rather spectacular implosion. As you can see.

on second thought, turns out I kinda suck at recommending things to people.

If you think that two-year-olds don't get cut a lot of slack for crying on airplanes, you should see how much they frown upon a bearded 35-year-old man engaging in this behavior. Jesus. Sorry if I made you uncomfortable, people on my flight.
