Just curious, would it be okay to share live recordings here? As long as the recordings aren't rips of live CDs or DVDs, and the musicians in question seem okay with it (ie., haven't spoken out against fans sharing live recordings from their shows).

There are a few I'd really like to get my hands on (like good quality live recordings of the Magnetic Fields), and likewise I have a few I wouldn't mind sharing which might be of interest to others here.

i'd be in this camp... but then i much prefer the actual physical sending of live shows to other people, in a swap deal.

The process is half the fun, i think.

Speaking of JV... had a dream a few nights ago that he did the vocals on a song of mine. So I e-mailed him and asked if he'd be interested in fulfilling my dream. Haven't heard back from him. Probably isn't a good idea to e-mail artists you (literally) dream about working with, unless you're in U2 or somesuch.

I guess we can start the sharing then, and see how it goes! Here's one of my favourites. Great energy, great sound quality. Must've been recorded in 2003 or 2004, and it's not this one. Think I got it off an FTP dedicated to either the Flaming Lips or Grandaddy back in the day.

Also, did some recording at the Magnetic Fields concert I attended last month. The quality is pretty okay. You can find the uploaded videoes here: The Magnetic Fields @ Rockefeller, Oslo 2012. Highlights are "Come Back From San Francisco", "Grand Canyon", and "Swinging London". My camera skills could maybe use some work; I like to move it about and zoom frequently.
