12 steppers?

Hey everybody,

I'm approaching four months sober, and I was wondering if there were any other people in 12 step programs on this forum. I was just sort of curious.

I'm not myself, but if you haven't read Infinite Jest and need another reason, one of the major themes of the book is dealing with substance abuse via 12 step programs and much of it is set in a post-rehab halfway house. The depiction of addiction in IJ is probably one of its really lasting strengths. It's well worth a read.

My brother got Infinite Jest for Christmas this year. If he's read it already, maybe he'll let me borrow it. Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't know what it was about.

Cool to hear people's stories. Thanks for sharing.

I've been going to a few meetings; I'm currently looking for a sponsor.

Seconded on the IJ reference.

I've never suffered an addiction, or been through such a program, but the way in which some of the chapters in IJ lay it out it sounds like a fuck-ton of hard work and dedication, so well done zisel.
