There's no chance for me to enjoy record store day here in this small town in Southern Germany where I live, for we only have one record store that, well, is ok, but nothing more.

But there's cool mailorder distributors even further down south, and they got me the Bonnie Prince Billy 10" "Hummingbird".

Just had it in the mail, yay!

Wasn't a huge haul but it still cost me a good amount. Got that 7" from Catherine Irwin herself too, sweet person.



I gotta wonder how much those huge lists cost you guys. My budget this year was like $75, I can only imagine some of those lists posted dipped into $300+

I was committed to spending less than $50 this year, but the Phish Junta deluxe and The Wake 2 LP landed me substantially higher.

btw, that Wooden Wand and Catherine Irwin split is great. I managed to snag a test pressing.

I had an event with friends I had to get to in the early afternoon so I didn't have a ton of time to patrol tons of stores, and as it turns out it didn't matter as the thing I wanted the most (the Feist/Mastodon 7" ) was sold out like everywhere within an hour of them opening - I got a condescending "hey, gotta get here early if you want things, some people were CAMPING OUT AT 5!" schpiel from the employee I asked about stuff. So I grabbed the Civil Wars Live at Amoeba CD and the Regina Spektor singing in Russian 7" and went on my merry way.


Would love to still get my hands on that Feist one but I'm sure the ebayers got them and will gladly part with them for like $150. Yay RSD! *sigh*

It was played on a podcast/radio show i listen to. It's pretty good - i'm not hugely knowledgable about Mastodon, but i like Feist, and this was well done.
