Very excited about this! Will give it a thorough listen as soon as I'm able.

Oh, and the topic I submitted was Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. The topic I got was Leopold Bloom's cat. I actually used it as an excuse to make a song out of this idea I'd had that all stories start with a cat, and usually a cat being chased by a young girl.

At least you knew about Njal! Forgive me but the first listen through I thought you were singing about Jon Nall! I should have been paying attention to the titles of the tracks instead of minimizing the window.

I think the next comp should be the Spam Album, where we all write songs with lyrics drawn from all the spam posts that have hit these boards.

ALSO: as I was researching alternate translations for Njal's Saga, I came across this (amazing?) song, which is actually about the part of the saga I was originally writing about before I scrapped it and started over: [www.youtube.com] Just in case you were wondering what my song might have sounded like if I had went all 60s prog rock.

The comp is fantastic. I mean, truly. I was blown away at how much work everyone seemed to have put into their songs and now I'm kind of sad I didn't spend a bit more time on mine. I'm just thankful I got to participate at all.

Oh, and who is The Ethics Officer? I know I could figure it out by going back to the original thread, but if someone would just tell me I could continue to enjoy my laziness.

Also, I've been missing Revolving Spleen and I kind of want to bring it back, but it would have to be on a really small scale, so I was wondering if I come up with a comp idea every once in a while if people would jump on board. I took the site down because I just don't have time to keep everything straight, but if I just released compilations on there every once in a while, that would be totally workable. I don't know, just a thought.

Anyhow, seriously great stuff, I posted about it on tumblr, which sends it to my band page on facebook and twitter... also I posted about it again on my band page on facebook and again on my personal facebook so in total that might mean like two more people download the comp.

Oh, and this made me really excited for new Pure Juniper too. I'm going to keep talking about it until I hear more. And then I will keep talking about what I heard.

Oh, and why have I not bought all of the Society of Poor Academics stuff yet... what is wrong with me?

hey simonfox, depending on how much quality you'd want from your RevolvingSpleen mini-comps, i'd love to take part in them.

I'm limited in my songwriting and my recording quality, but this seems like a good challenge - especially if the topic is picked. that way i have a starting point at least!
