I used TuneCore. You can put up a single for $10 a year or an album for $50.
Wait... you have to pay yearly to keep your music available through these services? That's going to get expensive.

Here's a brand new 4 track EP called This Is The Year I just finished mixing yesterday: http://staugustinesday.bandcamp.com/album/this-is-the-year
I used my friend's nice recording equipment so it's not just GarageBand this time, haha.
He (Alex Bretoi) was gracious enough to add bass, keys, drums, and backing vocals.

This is pretty cool. Plus, by your shows, I'm assuming you're in San Antonio, Texas, which is where I lived most of my life. I've been in Florida for almost six years now, but from the age of 8-22 I lived in SA. So maybe sometime when I go visit my parents I will catch one of your shows.
Where have you played the most? Where do you buy your gear and instruments and such?

Thanks, man. I mostly play at G.I.G. On The Strip, but I've also played at Taco Garage, Grace Coffee Cafe, a used to be weird ass venue that is now a gay bar, and I've played shows at my school, Trinity University (I actually opened for Rooney for our Welcome Back Concert).
In the future, I plan on playing places like Order Up, The Foundry coffee house, and maybe like the Enchilada Warehouse or something.

I usually by music stuff from Krazy Kat, Red Bone, or Guitar Tex. Occasionally Guitar Center.

Random question. How should one go about getting these so-called "gigs"?

I have a song from my forthcoming album on Bandcamp! It's called "The Fat Lady" and is inspired by Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger. Listen here:

My best friend/vocalist for my band came over my house today and we decided to record some of the stuff we've been working on, but since our drummer wasn't present we figured we'd just do it all acoustically.
So alas:
