Here's a song from my upcoming split tape, that should be out early next year.

Here's my sixth album, Everything Ends. It isn't my favorite, but it's the only I've had a chance to convert to digital thus far. Keep in mind half of it was improvised.

I've just been browsing through all the stuff here again, and just wanted to say how much I'm astonished again by all that music. It's real fun and inspiration listening to all those songs. What I don't get: Who is this Phil Collins guy again? A musician? No way! So why does HE get all the money?

Cheers, Doc

I think I probably posted these a year or two ago, but I assume there are new forum users who haven't seen them

This first one is a collection of some silly kid's songs I wrote: http://willparker.bandcamp.com

This second one is my more serious stuff: http://stauguastinesday.bandcamp.com

Zopilote Steel, that's a great idea. I may follow Broom Person's lead in following your lead. I probably won't post mine, but I'll at least write them.

I liked the rap, Broom Person. You've got some creative lyrics. Here's a fun rap song I do on the ukulele that I wrote awhile back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNdf1cZA5X4

Doesn't seem to work for me.

I'm REALLY happy for the song I wrote for today's song-a-day entry. Which is funny because I was having a lot of trouble putting more lyrics to the pattern that I'd set down... so I ended up making a multi-part song with some progressions that I'm proud of (can anyone say, D C B A G F E E, eh?). It was a lot of fun.

It's going well for me so far. I haven't been recording all of them, but I plan to at least record the best of the week. I think it's a good practice to write even if you are not totally inspired or in the mood to write. Here are some techniques I might use to come up with material for lyrics:

Watch TV while writing
Eavesdrop/people watch
Turning to random pages in books and randomly selected two or three word phrases
Writing about dreams from the night before

Nice stuff Zopilote! Nice wordplay with "I stand under it/I understand it."

I would never be able to do a song a day.

The main problem with my song-a-day has been finding time to record and upload the songs. I can crank out songs all I want, but by the time I get home from school and finish homework, it's too late at night to record things without waking someone up.
But other than that it's been going pretty well. Recently, been happy with these ones:

Wow, you guys rock! I wish I'd be able to write a song a day, or at the moment even a song a month... Keep on rocking in the free web!

Cheers, Doc
