Wow, so I spend quite the whole evening yesterday listening to all your stuff here, and what can I say - it's great. After a pretty long, dry period in songwriting it made me pick up my guitar and write again. Thanks y'all!

Cheers, Doc

awwww
so sweet

Enjoyed Avalanche. Remember there's a fine line between encouragement and garnering praise.

Okay I'm gonna do it. I know Suz is gonna be happy to see me doing this at the very least since I've sidestepped even mentioning it on the forums for a long time.
Here is a cd I just a few weeks ago put out in a very limited run, all self made and junk like that. Though it's been sitting around since the beginning of the year, it's only coming out now. I wasn't going to put it anywhere until I got physical copies, so I consider 9/21 the first official time it was on sale. Plus now I feel justified putting together a new record.

A lot of people say their works are made with love, but mine has that plus more on the back. "Made with love and the purest of intentions."
So there.

At least give it a listen through. smiling smiley
My friend/seldom bass/djembe player came up with the album name and did all the artwork.

Well, I've finally listened to it all. Amazing stuff all... I was going to list my favorites, but I'll keep that a secret since it's not like there are a million people posting in this thread. Everything I heard was pretty great though. You guys are all fantastic.

Here is my humble offering: hackberry garage

I would request however that you don't bother buying anything just yet. Just stream the songs for now because I am putting together a zip file of the full length plus all the b-sides for the planned singles, mostly to share with friends, but I would like to give it to this board's posters for free because 1) I love tMG and tMG fans and 2) you've all given me so much music for free now by way of this thread that I absolutely must return the favor. I'm afraid to give anything away for free anymore on bandcamp as they've limited the number of free downloads and I'm not sure what happens when you reach the limit. The EP I have download codes for, which I'm saving for gigs (donate any amount, get a download code for the EP kind of deal) but I could toss one someone's way and maybe they could share it with everyone, or maybe I could get off my lazy ass and work that in to the zip file... who knows?

Anyway, thanks for hours of entertainment! You guys are all amazing.

simonfox: I love your music! I've been listening to different tracks from Songs for the Weakest Muscle this morning and I really like everything I've heard.

Thanks Jamison. I really enjoy your music. It's very tMG, but with a stronger folk vibe. Not that I'm saying it's derivative either. You have a very original sound.

Thank you! I have always been greatly influenced by the Mountain Goats, and I'm very glad that the folk influence shows.

That was pretty sweet.
October 17, 2010 05:44PM | Re: Show us your music!
In addition to my work on the more convetional Blazing Peace Bodies (posted about earlier if y'all wanna read about that go up) I also do a noise project called G-I-R Growl, you may have heard me on the unofficially titled IRC Colon Bloodbath, upped as a joke for all the people begging for online downloads of Moon Colony Bloodbath... but I'm sure the highlight of that for y'all was R. Nally's track.

Anywho, since 2007 I haven't really done so much with it except for cover appearances here and there, but as a part of nasoalmo I'm ressurecting the project, doing at least one track a day through the month of November. As a motivator I created a facebook page for it. You can like it/listen to about 10 old tracks HERE! New tracks will be kind of different, moreso like my cover of The Beatles Fixing a Hole on the page.

EDIT: I just generated a bunch of download codes for my album on bandcamp, if you want want email me. (email is in the profile)

That's some really top notch experimental/noise.

I like "Look, I Made You a Sandwich" and "Mzarial" best.

PS: I promised a free download and I am here to deliver:
I present my first full length:
Songs for the Weakest Muscle

Sorry there is no FLAC/lossless, but I doubt you guys were gonna download FLACs of some album that was recorded lossy by some dude who just joined the board less than a month ago.

Feel free to share it with friends if you think it's worth it. Try and convince anyone who likes it and can really afford it to stop by my bandcamp and make a purchase though, just cause I'm broke as hell.

I'm really enjoying a lot of this stuff. Layladarling, you have a wonderful voice - Kimya Dawson-esque, if you don't mind me saying (that's a good thing!) - and i'm digging on it. thumbs down

I hope you won't mind if i suggest your soundcloud to some friends?

I have a new EP up: Agnosis [EP]
October 22, 2010 07:59AM | Re: Show us your music!
Hey, fine, a lot of new stuff here! Can't wait getting home and listen to it.

And I'd like to throw in my other band, Cyco Sanchez Supergroup, we play garage punk stuff.
The album is free, but I don't know how long, 'cause we've "signed" to a local "label", and they want to sell our mp3's, but I'm trying to keep it free as long as I can.

Hope you enjoy this, too.

Cheers and thanks to all you fine musicians and music lovers, Doc

Holy fuck! You make me want to play with you. I am downloading the album. I will probably start screaming along to it on the road into town tomorrow.

It makes me feel bad for posting this new and morbid song! It's got tambourine though.

Hi Jonty,

thanks for that!!! You made my day (which is a bad day, for my notebook died this weekend and now I can't listen to all the music here, only post at work. Damn)!

But yeah, on days like this one punkrock may be the better alternative to beautiful but sad songs...

Cheers, Doc
