Please come back! We miss y'all! I live on the Gold Coast, but will travel... Only had to go to "the Zoo" at Brisbane last time.
October 26, 2011 09:11AM | Re: Australian Tour???
The Zoo last year was great. I waited I think about 6 years for the chance and ability to see tmg live.
October 29, 2011 11:40PM | Re: Australian Tour???
The show at the Zoo was wonderful. I'm still kicking myself for not going to the show one or two years before that, too. I'll do whatever I have to to see the next one, whenever that is.

Aw hell yeah

I cant believe this Byron Bay - An hour and 30 min from home. Thankyou John you have answered my prayers.

My wife and I followed the tour for "babylon springs" back a few years ago, time to max out the credit card and start booking flights for Melbourne and Perth.

I will say again: Hell yeah

The site of this news caused me to make involuntary sounds, weird fucking sounds. Not sure what that was about.

Sad to see there is no Adelaide leg to the tour this time....
January 21, 2012 02:03AM | Re: Australian Tour???
I'm from Adelaide too, and disappointed about no show there, but the second I saw the announcement, I bought Melbourne tickets and sorted out a 12 hour bus ride to get there.

So excited. May 4 cannot come quickly enough.
January 23, 2012 10:43AM | Re: Australian Tour???
It's bad timing, as it coincides with the Magnetic Fields European tour, for which I already have some tickets. I would really love to see the band in Australia again...(my first three shows were at the zoo...).
I will at least buy tickets for my kids to see them in Brisbane...

No Adelaide....
Devastated.... Utterly devastated...

Anyone coming to the Sydney show?
March 03, 2012 03:29AM | Re: Australian Tour!!!
Quite disapointed at the lack of a Canberra show so I'll be heading back home to the Katoomba show at the Clarendon. I saw the fantastic Mr Darren Hanlon there in 2010 and the venue was a perfect fit. Small, cosy and incredibly intimate. If there's still tickets for Katoomba, move as fast as you can right now!

Oooh, let us know how the Katoomba show goes. I wasn't expecting a Canb show, honestly, there's never been one. Lousy promoters I guess :-) I imagine the Uni bar'd be a good venue to fill, but I don't know how much it costs these days.

Hey people, I'm coming over from Wellington (New Zealand, that is), and I am planning to head along solo to the Brisbane show at the Zoo... would be neat to meet some other forum people when I get there, if anyone is keen to meet up?

You couldnt have picked a better venue to see TMG, the ZOO kicks ass.

I saw your comment on the last.fm page! I'm the first commenter on it too. You're sure to get a good show.

I'll be at both melb shows. Real happy about The Toff show being added, my fave small venue, and it is very small!
will also make a recording of both shows and share it for those interested! I think I posted a recording of a 2007 tMG show on this forum back in the day. smiling smiley

THE BRISBANE SHOW AAAAAA

I got to talk to JD after it and he liked my shirt. It's a shirt by [twitter.com], whom we're both fans of (and who is a friend of mine). We also talked about other cool twitter folk and feminism and he signed my poster and he was so cool to me. What a band! Wurster was pounding the drums especially fucking hard, it ruled.

Katoomba debrief follows. Support band Catherine Traicos was pretty damn good and the Clarendon was lovely. John, Peter and John kicked ass and the set-list featured a couple of nice surprises with some few baby-faced newies and Tallahasse being given plenty of attention.
