do you not live in SF anymore? the purple onion is cool. i like BotH but it's hot and sweaty like the Fillmore (though the food is super good).

no, i live in austin (so i can't complain about shows). i grew up in reno and went to sf once or twice a month for most of my teens and twenties. don't miss reno much, but i do miss sf and lake tahoe a great deal.

Does anyone know anything parking near the Fillmore? Is there a lot nearby, or is it just street parking?

There's pretty cheap parking just up the street from the fillmore on geary at the Japantown center. I'm not sure what the exact name of it is, but it is something along those lines.

What a legendary show. Black Molly?! Unreal. I am super proud of the love we as an audience showed the band, and super stoked on the amazing performance they put on. This was a great night.

Sounds like you either missed or forgot the final encore. They came back one more time, after the music had come on and around half the crowd had left. Denton.

So what did they play for the 3rd encore? We heard them come back on right as we were walking out the door, but had to leave to catch the last BART.

Man, what an epic show. I'd never understood Beatlemania--fainting and shrieking and crying over musicians--until I heard the first few bars of "Going to Georgia" last night and started getting all swoony.

I know what you mean. I felt the same way during the opening bars of "Going to Georgia".
The final encore was "The Best Ever Death Metal Band Out of Denton" (abbreviated as "Denton" in my prior post)
Sorry you had to leave early to catch the BART. I've been there...

Unbelievable set! I can't believe I wasn't there. Alas I'm stuck in LA. I hope he will do at least 2 encores for us down here, highly doubt we'll get three seeing as how it's not even sold out a day before! I would love to hear Black Molly, but my dream is Ethiopians or Wizard buys a Hat!

I hate to just out and ask (as I already have in the Portland thread), but I'd really love it if - should a recording of this show exist - someone would point me in its direction. These two shows and the roadtrip to them were a birthday present for my friend, and I'd like to be able to give him a copy of the show, if possible. Thanks!

I know I'm posting mega late, but... I was there! Haha.
It was so awesome.
This was my first time at the Fillmore; I don't actually live in the bay area. It was really nice!
I had to take the BART back over to Emeryville (where I was staying) after the show. Well, I was staying in Berkeley, so I had to take the BART and a bus. So that was exciting! And it was such a good crowd too. Man. What a show.
