After last year's sweaty, intense face-off, and due to the venue being generally kickass in terms of size, character and obsecenely low drinks prices, I would have thought Leeds would be the hot ticket.

Yeah, Brudenell was WAAAAY better than Academy 3. How many Yorkshire Social Clubs have Daniel Johnston original sketches on the wall behind the bar?

But I've got a lot of love for all the Academy halls - seen some great bands across them over the years (Throwing Muses, Blur, dEUS, Teenage Fanclub, Sugar, Faithless, Durutti Column...) - and also, it's a good hour less drive each way to Manchester than to Leeds.

Actually, Sugar were rubbish...
