No Minnesota date

September 16, 2007 10:21PM | No Minnesota date
Disappreesh!

I do NOT want to drive four and a half hours. Also, even if I did want to, I'd have to skip school. This sucks.
September 16, 2007 10:26PM | Re: No Minnesota date
Awwww. (That was a very sarcastic awwww, just in case that didn't come across).
September 16, 2007 10:30PM | Re: No Minnesota date
I'm also sad, coming from the same perspective of a student in Minnesota.

Boooo megan.
September 16, 2007 10:30PM | Re: No Minnesota date
Boooo indeed.
September 16, 2007 10:37PM | Re: No Minnesota date
I'm sad, coming from the perspective of someone who lives in a country that does not get as much tmg love as it deserves. And I'm sure people like in the UK and the like are even sadder. Skip school, driving four and half hours? I'd kill to have those as my only obsticles.
September 16, 2007 10:37PM | Re: No Minnesota date
(and yeah, I am well aware of how whiney and emo I sound right now)
September 16, 2007 10:45PM | Re: No Minnesota date
Well, they might as well not be coming here cos there's no way I'll be able to see them; it amounts to the same thing. And I think it's wrong to argue in factions like this. We need to stand strong in our collective sadness at not being able to see the Mountain Goats.
September 16, 2007 10:46PM | Re: No Minnesota date
yeah, a 20 hour flight is a bit of an obstacle.
September 16, 2007 10:53PM | Re: No Minnesota date
a flight across the US is a big obstacle, but that doesn't stand in caliclimbers way.

The closest mountain goats are coming to me are four hours away, it's not standing in my way.

Sadness should be replaced by the irrational desire of setting everything other god damn obstacle aside and going to a mountain goats show this fall.
September 16, 2007 11:02PM | Re: No Minnesota date
Well, I wish it were that simple but I don't drive so I'd have to get someone to drive me, which would not be my parents cos they would not approve. The only person I'm really friends with who drives/has a working car is my friend's girlfriend, and he like tMG, but she doesn't know them at all, and I doubt she'd be willing to skip school and drive to Iowa to satisfy our whims.
September 16, 2007 11:12PM | Re: No Minnesota date
Greyhounds or amtraks.
September 16, 2007 11:14PM | Re: No Minnesota date
Hitchkiking? Getting a lift with another goater? Walking? Biking?
September 16, 2007 11:47PM | Re: No Minnesota date
It'd be nice to say that I'd walk 250 miles to see the Mountain Goats. I probably would if I knew I'd never get another chance, but as it stands, I'm fairly certain I'll get another chance. I'm just pissed that I have to wait for some unspecified date. And I am kicking myself for not, when they came around the last time, inquiring as to whether or not the venue would let a minor be at an 18+ show with a parent.

I guess I shouldn't complain too much as others have it much worse.

Whatever, I just want to see tMG.
September 17, 2007 12:17AM | Re: No Minnesota date
I'm driving a total of like 25 or so hours to see the goats this tour. but that's because i'm going to somewhere around 8 of the shows.

Greyhounds or amtraks.

In an update no one will care about, a friend and I made plans with another friend to Greyhound down there. It'll be a long complicated process, but with any luck we will be there!
September 24, 2007 12:08AM | Re: No Minnesota date
Greyhounds are fun.

Nobody else believes me when I say I like travelling on them.

Amtrak, however, can go fuck themselves. I hate amtrak.
September 24, 2007 12:35AM | Re: No Minnesota date
I traveled to Raleigh, NC from Little Rock, Arkansas and back on a Greyhound this summer. It was loads of fun. See America Right, right?
September 24, 2007 05:57PM | Re: No Minnesota date
Top of my list of things to do when I get to America is 'head for the Greyhound'. It'll probably be shit, but it's a cultural reference that I just HAVE to experience myself.
September 28, 2007 12:29AM | Re: No Minnesota date
I caught a greyhound from L.A to san diego once. Sure, it was just a bus. But i'll never forget it.

"Let the ticker tape come cascading down
Above the greyhound station"

"I was getting out of jail
heading to the greyhound
you said you'd hop on one yourself
and meet me on the way down"

I'm sure there are more, but I can't think.

Okay so just to let remind anyone, there actually is a Minnesota date now. It's at the 400 Bar, and it's 18+ on October 31st. [www.ticketweb.com]

Awesome. I was thinking you wouldn't get to see a show this tour.

FUCK YES!

I just found out about this like five minutes ago. I need to check the main page more.

Fuck.

I'm shaking with excitement. Iowa would be fun, but troublesome.

This fucking rules.

FUCK YES!!! 400 BAR!!!
I just needed to express my enthusiasm.
October 24, 2007 10:20PM | Re: No Minnesota date
Another update no one will care about:
Again, DISAPREESH! 400 Bar says you have to be 18, no exceptions, even with a parent. FUCK!

This is not fucking cool.
