back to the original point of this thread, i just acquired Corkscrewed, which is (I think) the last cassette I need to complete my MGs tape collection, other than Munchie's (which I may never get) and In Release City, which I have never seen in the wild.

There's also something called "Hey Dan K" on Ajax, which I guess is unreleased, but I don't know if that's a cassette or not.

Don't know why I'm saying all this.



We were trying not to alert Dan Koretzky from Drag City of the compilation's title before it came out, so we had the advance cassettes purposefully vague. I think we made 100 cassettes and sent them out to distributors and various magazines/writers, but I never got the mojo to finish up the damn liner notes and send it off to be pressed. It's a solid compilation (IMHO), so I was glad to get the chance to put out Kirby Sigston on one of the compilations.

Chilé de Árbol -- not the actual master tape, just a play copy so that I could hear what I was releasing...I actually got a small reel-to-reel tape for that one.

Also, not the actual master tape -- Bob Durkee recorded this on analog reels. That's Bob's handwriting, too. He overdubbed the songs onto a tape that had the Fix's "studio tracks," the Only Ones' Peel Sessions, and the Scientists' Atom Bomb Baby.
