Holy shit, a red one? Good job, man.

It's nothing crazy. He wanted a copy of Hi, We're Not the Mountain Goats, and I can provide such a thing.

Aw man, I still don't have one of those. Sad day.

how the hell does one "luck out" and get a RED SfPH? SfPH (black or red) is the only thing standing between me and a complete tMG vinyl collection (if we don't count compilation appearances and BPT swirly).

I also don't own On Juhu Beach but i have never even seen one on ebay so don't fancy my chances of ever getting one of those.

You can get SfPH on discogs at the moment. Black only though.

there was a red one on there for about 3 or 4 weeks. i was totally going to buy it -- just waiting for a paycheck. not there anymore. it was about $70.

that's the one. i was certain it was going to be a fail, in that i have tried to buy a few things off of gemms.com in the past, only to be told after i completed the process that the record was long gone. a very frustrating experience. for this one, i received an immediate e-mail from the seller, who was extremely frendly and cool, and we concluded the transaction very quickly. so i am a much bigger fan of discogs than i am of gemms.com

it was lucky in that i had completely forgotten that discogs even existed, and was only reminded of it from a recent post in this thread.

I buy a good bit off Discogs - always good experiences and some bargains - but... Since when does $70 = "lucking out"?!?!

Yeah, so ACow apparently never came through for all of the people who donated a few bucks for hard copies. How many people still never received one? I'm not sure. I only know I had emailed him my info around four times and nothing ever came of it despite getting two positive responses from him over the past 5+ months. I just ended up getting a little frustrated about the whole thing to be honest. Guy updates his facebook status four times a day, seven days a week but can't seem to manage getting the last copies out in the mail to the people involved with the album. See my frustration? More than anything I just hope that money gets to Farm Sanctuary soon because as far as the board knows it won't until there's another Zoop. I'm not intending to bad mouth ACow at all. He's a good guy with the best of intentions, I just know I'm not the only person still hoping for one and here we are in May and it is what it is.

i feel a little weird talking about pricing, but in the 3 years i have been looking, i have seen precisely 0 copies of this particular red vinyl available at any price, so in an environment where i just watched beautiful rat sunset go for US$130.00 on ebay (i stopped bidding at 50), i would say that finding it at any price, let alone fifty pounds, including shipment from the UK to San Francisco, without having to go though the headach of an auction, is pretty good luck! anyways, i felt lucky.

p.s., i hope this doesnt sound snarky. i justread it again and i could see it being read as snarky. definitely not the intent. i just meant it is lucky to find a red vinyl SfPH

by the way people, I just renewed uglythingsinthedarkness.com for another year so that link will stay active for a while, at least through the next Zoop.

I stopped posting here because of extreme guilt I had over making promises to members and not being able to follow through with them. I seemed to have hurt some people's feelings in my occasional cadness and I just thought it was easier not to visit that website than appologize. I'm a jerk, and am sorry. And yeah, the promises? The Bloodening was something that we had hyped up so much and really only had the lyrics to one song (and most of the lyrics were "Blood-ah-ning"winking smiley and I feel bad for having people donate and then having nothing. I still plan on making it - but lets face it, that won't happen anytime soon. The only thing that kept me from feeling really super mega guilty was that no money went through my hands during the process, so really when I'm feeling my emo-ist I just tell myself that I got people donating to autism and that's pretty cool and they're pretty cool and they'd of done it anyway.

Also, I'm going to be moving again and this time I'm getting rid of all my CDs, there's a lot of tMG ones in there so if I'll be posting them up to peeps on the message board first in case there's something they want but never got around to. Then I'm taking the rest to Princeton Record Exchange and asking if they'll trade a big box of CD's for $50 in store credit.

I've got big plans.Talking BlanketYay, Butts! LOL!

I really want to hear those Furniture Huschle tracks on Tropical Depression.

A "Songs for Petronius" just kicked up on Ebay.

There is one on discogs and I think a few other pieces on that list are on there too.

I love discogs, both buying and selling on it. I have bought from and sold to some real gems on there.

Dude, the Bloodening is TOTALLY still happening. I'm not letting you (or myself) off the hook that easily. I owe a lot of people cover songs, plus the Bloodening, and I hope that everyone to whom I owe these things knows that I haven't forgotten. Life gets in the way sometimes, sometimes one has to have a nervous breakdown/go crazy for a little bit, but in the end I'm gonna deliver. And you are too, dammit!

Time was Stg.£50 would have set you back $100! (I'm a lightweight collector myself and I don't have the urge to collect variants of each release.)

To me, lucking out is finding two copies of the first Shrimp Boat LP in Blackrock market while xmas shopping, or a 7" picture disc of Spandau Ballet's Gold for 50p, or a stash of Ivor Cutler LPs in a bric-a-brac shop. Or just buying an unknown album based on sleeve art alone and it being really good.

BRS@$130? Criminy...

PS No snark inferred nor implied.
