Wait when did Bioshock come out? I think it's technically in that range and should be on that list too. I even enjoyed the 2nd one though not as much.

For the record, I am of the firm belief that Portal / Half Life 2 / that cohort of games are some of the best forever and good on you for playing them, even if it's "behind" or whatever

ive never played the half life games.

i'm not really a big gamer, but i thouroughly enjoyed Portal, and i shall be playing portal 2 in the near future. I've basically played nothing but Fallout3 and Sensible World of Soccer for the past few years!

If we're talking about older games that are incredible and should still be played, i would highly recommend Ico (and Shadow of the Colossus).

Recently got a PS2, but getting the games I want for it in new condition cheaply is tricky. I've a backlog of around 50 games though, so guessing there's no hurry. But those old, rare games will only get older and rarer. Rule Of Rose, Kuon, Clock Tower 3 and Dog's Life, you will be mine!

On the games that have been mentioned here so far: The Portal games are great. I've played Half-Life 1 and 2, and while they're not really my kind of games (too much shooting), they're worth playing from a "historical" or design perspective. Bioshock I found pretty disappointing, and I pretended I was Batman through half of it. Would love to play the original System Shock games though, hoping they'll get released on GOG.com some day (though I fear the twist in the second one has been spoiled for me). Would love to play Shadow Of The Colossus too, and I could borrow it for the PS2 from a friend of mine, but now there's the HD PS3 version which I believe fixes the frame rate issues so maybe I should hold out until I'm able to play that version some day.

well, I'm not a gamer at all. i still have my old super nintendo, n64, and dreamcast and enjoy them everyonce in a while, i use an old xbox as a dvd player, and i beat diablo 2 LOD in hell mode without cheating or buying anything from friends or anything like 5 or 6 years ago. i did beat halflife and the 2 expansion things as well, but didnt finish 2 or any expansions because i already started losing interest. but portal and 2 were amazing and i still play 2 every now and then. hey lets do a 2 player steam with someone sometime!

Hahaha oh I get it. Yeah okay we should move this elsewhere if we want to continue talkin vidja games

back to the original point of this thread, i just acquired Corkscrewed, which is (I think) the last cassette I need to complete my MGs tape collection, other than Munchie's (which I may never get) and In Release City, which I have never seen in the wild.

There's also something called "Hey Dan K" on Ajax, which I guess is unreleased, but I don't know if that's a cassette or not.

Don't know why I'm saying all this.

Nice! a tough one to get. FYI. If you ever find it, there are 2 variants of In Release City. The original release seems to be woodblock printed. Later on some were released where the cover is a color copy. That info from Mr Albatros.
