John,
I am your biggest fan. I admire you for your beautiful music and determination as a vegetarian.
Just wanted you to know

I find this thread to be controversial.
November 20, 2009 01:54PM | Re: Biggest Fan
I am John's littlest fan. No, literally, I am like only six inches tall and I live in a shoe.

Just wanted you to know.

do I have to hit you over the head with it?

John,
I would like to think I am in the top 5% of biggest fans, but I am probably really somewhere in the top 10% to 15% bracket since I've never driven more than two hours as of yet to see a show and I've only got a handful of physical albums and the one t-shirt and gig poster. My report card would say NEEDS IMPROVEMENT. But you are pretty dang awesome, guy.
November 20, 2009 02:03PM | Re: Biggest Fan
how did the word "fan" even come about?

from "fanatic?"

a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal.

yeah, i guess so.

huh.

the fanatics is a great band name, just fyi.

I think it's a shortened version of "Fantastic. You yelled out "Golden Boy" during a slow song again. Way to go, guy." which has roots in a similar saying used by Charles Dickens regarding requests of A Christmas Carol during readings of Bleak House.

John,

I'm your biggest fan. Proof: I stole your shoes in Minneapolis. Or maybe that was Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet. Anyway, I always wanted to tell you that my favorite album is "Heart Like a Sky", even though no one else likes it.

You know what? I'm thinking of Gary Kemp from Spandau Ballet.

We're all registered on a forum hosted by tMG. I think we are all in the top fan lists

What is the precise mass of your fandom?
November 20, 2009 07:53PM | Re: Biggest Fan
You may admire John for his music and devout vegtarianism...

I admire him...for his mind
November 20, 2009 08:22PM | Re: Biggest Fan
I admire him for his snazzy jacket on the Last Happy Night of Your Life tour. And also for that one song with the guitar, it sounded like it was recorded on a boombox? And also those other songs that sound like he was in a studio. Those are good too.
November 20, 2009 09:19PM | Re: Biggest Fan
Hey John I am not one fo your biggest fans. I simply and far too behind the curve, only being 16 has greatly impeded my chances at being your "biggest" fan. I am almost ashamed to admit that the fist i ever heard of you was on Moral Orel when No Children was featured. Although somewhat proud that I had the faith to go and get Tallahassee the next day. Well I'm telling a useless story but still I felt I must justify why I am not your biggest fan. But if you ever read this COME TO TORONTO. Between you UNKLE and the Slackers, those 3 shows would complete my concert life and I would never need to go to another show again.
November 20, 2009 11:42PM | Re: Biggest Fan
Moral Orel is as good of a way to get into tMG as any other.
November 21, 2009 12:49AM | Re: Biggest Fan
oh yeah?

well,

so there!
November 21, 2009 11:24AM | Re: Biggest Fan
Well, you all might admire his mind and music, but I admire the Get Lonely swoop the most.

(I'm actually growing out my devil lock---the only haircut I'd ever copy from someone else would def. be flock of seagulls).

That is so cool attercop. I admire your fandom. Which reminds me that I have to finish my tMG t shirt in a few days so I'm ready for the concert grinning smiley

Brilliant.

November 22, 2009 07:45PM | Re: Biggest Fan
I think there needs to be a survey of some sort to actually determine who the #1 fan is. The trick would be making sure it was stuff you couldn't just Google. There could multiple rounds of trivia, and the winner then gets the prize of knowing they are the #1 tMG fan, if you consider being the #1 of something a prize.
November 22, 2009 07:54PM | Re: Biggest Fan
if i am ever considered the "number one fan" of anything, please shoot me, thanks.
November 22, 2009 08:26PM | Re: Biggest Fan
this thread made me lol six times. I counted.

I'm with blackliner.

And by with, I mean I agree.
November 22, 2009 10:54PM | Re: Biggest Fan
Although stalking IS the highest form of flattery, John going to 505 W Chapel Hill st. to file a restraining order would take up valuable song writing/recording time, and thus be a BAD thing. Therefore we should all resolve to stalking lesser indy-rock stars, who could benefit from our attention.
November 22, 2009 10:59PM | Re: Biggest Fan
Instead of following anyone, let's all just start DRESSING like PPH. Devotion cred as well as probable help in OTHER areas too.
