That would have been awesome. I'm annoyed the song was never released.

Yeah, i felt some greed guilt about this. Honestly if I would have known the time frame was so short i wouldn't have taken so much on... It is 3 completely different things though...

I was gonna go all dubstep on truckface until he handed over this fantastic track late last week...didn't want to go too crazy with it, (plus I was strapped for time) so I just prettied it up and tweaked the hell out of it. I really think you guys will love this track, it turned out great!!

i'll see how it goes in DC. send me an email with your phone number and i'll get in touch with you if i need your help.

everyone please send whatever vibes you can to et la licorne to get me his song. i'm burning these one at a time, and it's taking fucking forever, and i'm still waiting on his song before i can start burning disc one.

i'm making the executive decision that if, by the time i've finished doing all 50 disc twos, i don't have his song, i'm just going to do it without him.

et la licorne, sorry to put you out on the spot there, but, i mean, there was a clear deadline, and you've had an almost 4 day extension now.

it was actually 2 7"s btw and the mastering date was 5/1, I cancelled it this a.m.
This is why you should be nice to everyone.

quick! let's all pound out an acappella version of the missing song, then we can mix them all together a la [edit: high school chorus] in case et la licorne never shows!

thanks everyone smiling smiley

also, worryingly Et La Licorne is the only person who never replied to any of my emails/posts about what name he/she wanted to be credited as...

Dude, I am totally for some kinda collab on that song. I know it was a joke, but I think it would be pretty funny. Especially if it was a good song that won't get to be heard on the album.

I'm surprised only 1 person didn't show up...

At very least you can put in an mp3 of 2 seconds of silence in it's place to preserve the tracklist order. et la licorne can just say it was a very experimental approach...

Or somebody bang out a 10 second tmbg fingertips style song "THIS IS THE SPOT / WHERE ET LA LICORNE / WAS SUPPOSED TO SUBMIT HIS SONG / BUT DIDN'T"

No need to credit me on the lyrics.

OK so for the digital copies of this... I can only seem to edit the track information in the file folder for mp3s. This includes editing the track number and putting it in order, etc.

So I can do one of two things.

Put it up for download with only about half the tracks labeled with artist, album, track number, and genre, with the other half having this information blank. These zip folders would be out of order when downloaded.

Option two is converting all the WAVs and AIFs to mp3s so as to fix these problems.

I'm not a huge audiophile, but I'm big on organization, so I love the mp3 option. I imagine that those who used lossless formats have a different opinion on this though...
November 26, 2009 02:58PM | Re: HEY JOHN DON'T READ THIS THREAD AGAIN smiling smiley
Yeah Colin wav files don't have id3 tags for track info. Mp3 should be fine for digital, lossless would be too big in size anyway.

I would say at least make sure you convert those lossless files to 320k mp3 for the digital release. Also you should probably add the album cover to the mp3 id3 tags. Sorry but I think digital releases with proper id3 tagging + album art are much more classy.

My 2 cents!

Sorry, we already had a lottery. You'll have to wait for ebayflation.
November 26, 2009 04:30PM | Re: HEY JOHN DON'T READ THIS THREAD AGAIN smiling smiley
I'd rather have all the info with the mp3s myself. I can send the song anew as an mp3 if that helps. The difference isn't worth the lack of info/organization IMO.

Random question stemming from desperate anticipation, can we expect a midnight internet digital release party with celebration, countdowns, fanfare, and imagined confetti? I'm anticipating listening to what you all've done far more than I anticipated Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, etc. today, although it was delicious/satisfying as I am guessing this music will be also.

Whoa I just read all 16 pages. I'm pumped. You all made me decide to stick around these here forums. Go y'all.

I like this idea a lot. We can make a Listening Thread and all talk about listening to the entire thing straight through.
