I really feel this sentiment needs to be reinstated here.

With John absent there has been a lax on guilting people who do this stuff, and it seems like it's turning people away from posting altogether.

I'm not saying that we should all hold hands and go skipping through a meadow of daisies together, just saying that an over-exertion of hostility is only gonna make you look bad. If you need to bitch on the forums, the DCL (or whatever the current iteration is called) is probably the best place to do it. Otherwise you guys will eventually end up no better than our resident trolls here.

and to people that this is happening to, more often than not it's probably happening for a reason. So please, tone down on the useless spamming (m3k I'm looking at you), and despite there being a vast and knowledgeable community at your hands, don't use it as your personal workhorse and think it absolves you of any responsibility to find the information on your own. Especially if you're new here, because that just sends the message across that you have no intent in constructively adding to this community, you just want what you want and will be on your way once you get it. Those guys are the worst.

I'll get off my soapbox now, I just thought it'd be good to put my feelings out there.
Nobody's gonna be completely innocent of it, you should just not let it cosume your every post.

But you see when there is a thread I like and then out of nowhere about 500 lines of blank space followed by a "not" or a picture of a [sometimes table breaking] cow/elf/mr. t, it can't be ignored.

When deliberate attempts to derail threads occur somewhat persistently, it becomes an issue.
I only singled you out cause you're the sole person who does that shit, whereas the other problems have been noted by a few.

Yeah, I bet Alex is super sad about you perfectly proving his point.
January 12, 2010 10:15AM | Re: a couple of board etiquette points
dear truck face,

my harmless meandering is so not as harmful as this high and mighty modwannabe caterwauling from fellow mental patients. i'm just bein me, and he's just tryin to be mod. please. we all wanna escape and get outta here, but we're linked arm and arm. you start callin out fellow inmates and all hell breaks loose. let mods moderate, and let everyone else stfu. if you don't like what you're reading, buzz off. if you don't like the moderation, buzz off. just don't tell me that i'm a problem. i'm the very least, the absolute bottom, the inconclusive nadir, of your problem. in fact, you are the sole problem, truckface. i'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you that.

also, a gift from afar.

from me to you.

yes. it's the smallest violin in the world.

can you hear it?

it plays, "my heart bleeds."

if you stab me, do i not bleed?

if you make fun of me, do i not laff?

if you cross your arms and turn your back, do i not think you are a fuckface?

come on.

nobody here is bad.

let's all be ourselves and not complain when everyone and their mother also gets to be themselves.

i think a few have standards that can be a bit more realistic.

but that's just what i think. it isn't automatically your reality because i said so.

this is a messageboard on an internet.

either shit will start to be censored, or you can censor shit yourself.

click, the internet is off.

or click, there are other threads to read.

i know what i'm choosing.

i'm choosing, click.......monkey porn.

It's not fair to tell people they should just go read another thread, Mike, unless you refrain from doing it in just about EVERY thread. Which is what you do now.
