uhm, John Darnielle?

I've been meaning to ask you this: how is it you pronounce your last name?
Is it like; Darn-ee-elle, og darneel? Because I've heard people say both...

Not a big deal, just out of curiosity... If this is a stupid question and you all know the answer, just let me know right away, and there will be no fuzz, ok? haha

Yes, that's what I think too, and that's what I try to say (because someone once corrected me, and I believed in them), but most people pronounce it darn-yell, and I get confused... am I the only one who notices this?

On radio interviews and stuff the presenters always say Dar-kneel. You think he'd correct them if that was wrong.

I think it was one of the KEXP in-studios where the host pronounced it dar-nyelle and he corrected her and said it was pronounced dar-kneel.

I alway pronounce it Dar-nyelle by force of habit (it sounds more right to me, even though it's not), but I am trying to fix that.
