I used to have a record player, but I gave it to a friend of mine. I want to go to itunes while I'm on my computer, it's easy and there isn't a noticeable difference to me. I don't want to use records, they are large and annoying, not to mention I really do not see the difference you mention.

I hadn't thought about mooncolonybloodbath.com, but my heart did skip a beat when this thread went to 10 pages as I assumed it meant there was actual news about the release.

I do reload the forums at least twice a day now waiting for info. Doesn't John know his internet bill will be lower when he releases this record? Hahahahahaha...

two days ago, woot.com had record players with USB ports (so you could rip .mp3s from your vinyl) for $60.

just wanted to throw out that i was just in a guitar center tonight and saw a numark portable turntable on clearance for $25.

probably not the best turntable, and probably not available in all locations, but hell. you can't beat that.

also, the goodwill near me had at least four or five turntables last time i was in there. although the one near miranda had none, so i guess it depends on the area.

if anyone is in the philly area and wants me to pick that numark table up for them, i could probably do so. let me know.

in related news, my new audio-technica turntable came in today and i am about as in love with it as one can be with an inanimate object without it getting weird. everyone should have a turntable. really.


on second thought, turns out I kinda suck at recommending things to people.

its flaws were what made us have fun.

OK following this link I found out about 3bos going out of business, I realize it's off topic but dang, I bought most of my Mountain Goat cd's there and the stickers were a treat.I( never knew what the hell to do with them... but still sorry to them.

He told me he (just last week...regarding new asian cinema) that he hadn't done a very good job of keeping the list updated. He went on to say he'd see if he still had it, and then contact me. Meanwhile, I have 100 bucks just lying around waiting to traded.

I'm assuming that you all are anxious to have the actual records as opposed to just the songs, but for anyone who hasn't seen, all three one-sided 12"s and On Juhu Beach are available for download on iTunes. I went ahead and bought On Juhu Beach just so I can say I've legitimately purchased all the releases in some fashion (i.e. either second-hand through ebay, the 3bos comps, etc.). I was surprised to see them there.

I got a question: will this be available for people in the UK? I seem to remember there being a fairly small number that shipped outside the US for Black Pear Tree, and I missed out cuz I was umming and ahhing since i didnt have a turntable at the time. Then when I wanted one, there didn't seem to be any available. So, to sum it up, will this be readibly available to non-US peeps.

I think BPT is still sometimes available at either 3bos or beggars (maybe the latter).... it's been mentioned a few times on the board.

My money is on Tim for MCB - Tim is great.

There are still copies of BPT available through Beggars. I realize they do not ship internationally but it's not too late for a "I order and ship to you personally" type deal, which I'd be more than happy to do if you're still looking for a copy.
