Yep, shockingly, I want one too. If it turns out that there will be no way to get it for people whose shows have already passed before the record was ready, someone please help a guy out. Either I can cover shipping and the actual record cost for you over Paypal.

Also I have an extra copy of Black Pear Tree I'd probably be willing to part with if that can help it be arranged, so hopefully SOME way I can snag this.

Guys: We're probably going to get a chance to get it, one way or the other. I mean, we've got the big ol' high res scan of the album art, so even if it's an MP3 sale a la Satanic Messiah, we could cobble together something fairly awesome, artifact-wise, on our own.

Hell, perhaps we could have a contest. Lots of bizarro images online that would work well as Moon Colony Bloodbath interior-sleeve art. (I at first thought the title was an Emerson LaSalle reference, but it turns out I was thinking of Guns of Old Mars.)

That said, I will be twelfth in line to order one from a licensed internet distributor of vinyl. (I'm never first. I'm too cool for that.)


Pretty Fakes: Pouring bourbon on the line that separates art from trash. And then? Setting it on fire.

Along the line for the previous post - Did anyone ever read The Raw Shark Text? If so, you most likely know about the internet search game involving links and clues that people had to follow to finally get a reward from the author. The clues could start with images from the sleeve.

I would like to see something along those lines for the general public's release of this. Bring back the pre-internet days of actually having to work to get something rather than making it a click away.

Tour skipped southern California for some strange reason. Kind of disappointing that I literally haven't had a chance at either of these last two releases. sad smiley

I don't think the Johns will go the Satanic Messiah-route (pay-as-you-like/free MP3s) with this one, as the number of vinyl copies pressed resembles the one for Black Pear Tree (at least that's what JV twittered).

Though I'd really love to get my hands on a physical copy of MCB (and I was lucky to get both of the last two), I strongly suspect that shipping costs to Europe would be higher than the actual price of the EP.

Therefore, please, please, please release it on iTunes asap as well! (BPT hasn't arrived in the iTS yet and even if it can be found in some shadier places of the net, I prefer paying for tMG releases - and I guess most of you do too.)

I would say I totally agree, but the way I'm reading that, it seems like your first two paragraphs spread the blame around to fans and 'ebay prospectors' alike -- the whole "New records will become fetish objects to be traded for high-quality bathtub crank or first-born children?" strikes me as the doing of the fans, for example. But then it seemed like you concluded by simply blaming the 'ebay prospectors' -- royal douchebags, yes, but the problem is not wholly contained within them.

But maybe I misunderstood you. I'm desperate to see someone saying "chill, guys, you'll get to hear it and if you're patient and only a little lucky, you'll get a copy," so maybe I'm trying to read that into your post.

I don't have a huge problem with things selling for lots of money on ebay.

Supply is low, demand is high, that's how these things work. I don't think it's worth getting pissed at.

I can totally agree with all that, blackliner. The frenzy is for sure understandable, I just hope we can keep it within reason. But hell, I got pretty angsty when I found out I had missed the ZM vinyl, and that's something I've heard a million times already.
