I hear ya. Apple has taken over the globe unfortunately. Which is probably why I o alwyas buy vinyl and only rarely cds (such as by the Goats). Although my car rides are a hell of a lot more fun with cds. But cursed mp3 shops!

I must admit though that the download function that many supply with vinyl sales are great. Just bought Band of Horses (I know kinda gay) on vinyl and am listening to the mp3s now at work from the free download whilst the beautiful cover is standing here next to me on the desk.

Should get back to work, my boss is staring...

if you bought it from itunes then you dont actually have everything, because itunes doesnt include the physical cd/7"/whatever, or the liner notes, for that matter.

As far as isopaniad radio hour goes, i lucked out and found one on ebay recently, with the etching on the vinyl and everything. very cool. i'm kind of new to this forum and not certain if buying stuff off of ebay is frowned upon, but I'm not certain what else to do. I totally support Mr. Darnielle and would not download the leaked new CD, and I do everything I can to buy MG stuff on the primary market, but when you can't find something ANYWHERE, I don't see what else there is to do but resort to ebay. For example, that's where my girlfriend found Come, Come to the Sunset Tree, and where I found Isopaniad, The Wedding Record 7 inch and a couple of other vinyls, which are all really awesome. What else could we do? If someone has suggestions, I'd welcome them, because right now I'm trying to get as much old stuff as I can . . .

Well ebay is wonderful, full stop. There is nothing wrong with buying off ebay as a collector. It can get annoying that people will buy stuff just to sell to poor chaps like us. But yes, where else would we get it.

I have made the suggestion of opening a thread warning us geeks when stuff comes online. I saw 8 (yes 8) vinyls of coroners gambit for 19 dollars each on gemm.com and should have bought the lot or at least advetised it in here. I got mine just after having paid 120 dollar for another copy on ebay. I just sold it to another guy from in here for just the 20 dollar (which he has yet to pay me). Now that is sharing among goat'sters.

I treasure my collection very much and enjoy the hunt, but without ebay I don't know how I could have done this as i certainly do not get that much exposure to cool stuff in Denmark.

Does everyone agree that ebay is allright? I know Mr. Darnielle gets the usual cut from the original buy but still, buying is buying.

Alternatively, advertised auctions (i.e. come to teh sunset tree copies) for a good cause, say farm sanctuary.

Don't get too happy on that 7" of chile. Tried buying that with no luck. But other than that, have fun. Also try musicstack.com every once in a while. Amazon.co.uk or .de also has a few sweet items every once in while. Other than try the other global ebays.
