I Dion't mind torrenting or taking files from you guys seeing as i've purchased literally everything i can (4ad records)
if there is more to buy i would totally do it but sadly i cannot.

I have undercard on vinyl but i'd like to buy the otheres if anyone has extras.

The reason i made it a list like that is because i was looking around for a while to see what i wanted to ask so i wasn't really paying much attention to my delivery. I think that i have gone about this in very much the wrong way and i am very sorry for the blatant disrespect ( if that's the right word ) i have shown the community. I went about this in the wrong way and my true intentions were skewed in the process of putting together my original post. i understand all of your points and i am taking them to heart. I wish that i had addressed my questions in a more proper, respectful, and graceful manner.

It's kind of an unspoken rule around here not to ask about where you can download JDs stuff.

You can always check ebay for vinyl, that's what I do.

I totally understand that rule and all of you can stick to it if you want. I hate to make you think I'm rude or cheap. I just enjoy the music and would like to have more to hear while i try and collect the rest of his discography. Like i said i really love JDs stuff and have been a fan for years ( i actually finished getting together the 4AD stuff last week) It's impossible to purchase some of these things. Like i said i feel bad to ask like that and i was aware that you all don't like file sharing but i'd like to have the bonus tracks and some of the things i can't buy.

If you could tell me where i could buy any of these songs i would love to! the issue is not being able to find them.

Hi there Mr glass. I'm so sorry to make you upset. You have to understand i'm asking no one to do anything for me. I was just confused about some things and came to people i know could help me out. I don't DESERVE anything especially anything that john wouldn't want me to have gotten by a means which he disproves of. I've been looking around on discogs and am saving up for TCG. All that I am asking for are some things i couldn't find on my own. When I talked about torrenting i never meant that i was planning on torrenting tons of materiel or anything that i wasn't planning on purchasing in the future. As of now i have collected ( Purchased ) John's entire 4Ad collection and a few other CDs i've picked up. The only thing i have ever torrented of JDs in my life was on Juhu Beach. I would have ordered it from Japan but it's not availible anymore and there was no other possible way that i know of to hear the songs. If A time comes that i can purchase it in the future i will because that is what is right to do as a fan and a consumer. I'm not entitled to these thing by any means I''m not sure what made you think that. I may have said it in a way that made me seem like that. I hope you understand.

P.S I just realized an issue. When i said download i meant purchase. If i could not possibly purchase in any way i would go for a torrent. Why would you guys or JD have an issue with torrenting something that could not be obtained or purchased otherwise?

Colin, don't feel too bad, a lot of us have been smacked down a bit for those requests. trust me, it's much worse when its actually done by JD. i think the thing is that people who view this as a community of sorts, even though numbers have dwindled somewhat recently, and if you just jump in and appear to be demanding music, its kind of like bullying your way into a family dinner and shitting in the mashed potatoes.

all of the advices above are good, and here's another one. if you have some patience and stick around and participate in talks, and also consider keeping an e-mail address public in your profile, you may find once in a while you get presents that you value. also keep in mind that if such a thing happens and you float those presents through the interwebs freely and recklessly, you might not get many more presents.

Also pretty explicit, so don't try to act like your intent was taken the wrong way. You meant what you said, and I'm sure many people get music from JD and other artists the same way. Coming and asking about it/for it on his own site that he pays to host, though, is really lame, if may paraphrase what he's said in the past. You're in his house so don't blatantly advertise how you might hope to take stuff for free.


On Juhu Beach, bonus tracks for various albums including Heretic Pride and LOTWTC can be found pretty easily between iTunes and Amazon mp3 (the latter of which I actually prefer). Undercard and Martial Arts Weekend (the Extra Glenns album) too. "Glenns" is actually the official branding as I've always used it and as is labeled on Martial Arts Weekend.

Just the way you basically bullet point things like a list of chores for us to fill in all at once. I mean I know any acts of kindness aren't necessarily going to be reciprocated, but when it seems like "okay I need this, chop chop," it's a little too assertive coming from someone we don't really know. I know some of us guys are nice and going to help out, but it's not going to hurt to be a little more respectful, and that counts for the music too, it's much more than a commodity to the majority of us. I mean, i'm sure Bride, Etiquette Song, and Counting Song for Bitter Children are all widely distributed right now, but just cause I got them on special occasions from Tim or John, while not directly, but in a community I was actively participating, I feel a little more personal about them. Snobbery it ain't because I'm not gonna flaunt it every chance I get, it's just how it is. If WC asked me for any of those I'd surely do so cause I know he's a pretty good guy, while I ain't got much against ya, people like me just don't give it away for free.

i wouldn't even be so sure of that. aside from Bride, I've not got 'em (i never thought to ask, to be honest!) and i've been here a little while now, so others who joined around my time (or after) and actively contribute are probably song-less as well.
