Weeds creator Jenji Kohan says our favorite band is recording a version of the Melvina Reynolds classic "Little Boxes" for the eighth and final season of the Showtime series:

About the time the whole show jumped the shark when she burned down an entire town and starting dating/married a Mexican drug kingpin. Which was about the time I quit following it.

But that's what Netflix and On Demand are for. Sounds like I need to catch up.

Sounds like I got out around the same time as you guys.

Yeah I bailed in the beginning of the Mexico stuff, it just was too far gone for my tastes at that point. Even on rewatches I've stopped at the end of season 3, maybe I should give the rest of it another shot at some point. Too much on the list to-watch right now.

They're a North Carolina band, they opened for tMG on a string of West Coast dates last summer.

I love this song and this version. If anyone hasn't already heard Malvina Reyonalds album, that's worth doing.

As far as the show, if you embrace the rediculousness and just go with it, the later seasons are fun. The ending is very poigniant, although I didn't actually like several scenes in the last episode.
