REISSUE: Hound Chronicles & Hot Garden Stomp

May 10, 2012 11:42PM | Re: REISSUE: Hound Chronicles & Hot Garden Stomp
Dennis Callaci, ladies and gentlemen!

This is like how described modern mp3 music as "them sparkling clean digital handjobs of late" a few years back. Classic.

Stopped by Rhino Records in Claremont today and was surprised to find that they already have these out. $11.99 plus tax. Needless to say I bought one and am enjoying it as I type.

This is the kind of thing you miss when you forget to check the forum for about two months. Ordering one from Insound right now!

Finally, the disks made their way to Germany, 10 days of waiting are over. Thank you, John, for these wonderful pieces of music. They're awesome!

1840 - Hounds in Sonora, Mexico, invent music, write bogus "History of Music" to preserve anonymity.

I'll trade you the CD for your tapes.

Mine arrived today. I ended up ordering from Amazon, because it was slightly cheaper. It's factory sealed, but the case is scratched, so I'm not exactly thrilled about that. I'm pretty damned happy to own the CD, though!

...great that they got reissued properly....i preferred to purchase a tapedeck (my old one crapped out a few years ago)...really strange how cheap good tapedecks are these days.

been playing these in my car a lot lately, love it

my roommate is into the mountain goats a little bit but mostly more recent stuff like the sunset tree.
i played hot garden stomp when she was in the car the other day and it was all i could do to keep a straight face during "beach house" hoping she was listening to the lyrics. super gratifying when she laughed in the second verse, i knew she'd like it

Mine came today from these lovely german mailorder guys. I'm happy. Also there came the new Bonnie Billy 12" and "Early Times" by the Silver Jews. This is going to be such a beautiful evening!

Man, today, I was lying on the floor listening to Hot Garden Stomp, and I was thinking: Had I known this music back when I was a teenager learning to play guitar, my life would've been better. I'd have had much more confidence in writing and recording songs, in melodies, in making the most of the simple things. But no, it had to be well-produced Death Metal and Grindcore...

[Edit] Please read "well-produced" in quotation marks.

Can't believe I get paid to listen to these songs all day (and do washing up at the same time. Mostly the washing up I think, but it's not been laid out in contract). There's nothing quite like yelling 'let them kill me' in rubber gloves on company time.
