hail st. sebastian packs a real punch. i love the pithy chorus. its alight! i think that bride and hail st sebastian harken back to the simpler earlier stuff - saying a lot in few words. so i'm fond of those.

the anonymous 4 collar is fantastic. i can't wait to pick over the lyrics when the album gets released. this may sound a bit crass but i think the subject of mental illness is a really interesting/powerful subject for him to deal with. i love how tMG gives a voice to the voiceless/outsiders. tis really cool about the anonymous 4 stuff being from ennaeus (sp?). i wonder did JD arrange the lyrics for anonymous 4?

I listened to the livestream. I was ridiculously happy to hear things at the actual same time John was singing them! It just felt real special! (Yeah, I've never been to a concert.)
Anyhow,I saw the setlist, and was somehow absolutely convinced that the title Counterfeit Florida Plates referred to tectonic plates. The moment when I realized it was not about falsifying pieces of the earth's curst was rather sad.

oh yeah I remember that! any idea of what the setlist was?

Yeah, just saw that... is that the same stream Nigel ripped earlier? Definitely includes the encore this time. It's sadly only hosted at 128, but as nice as mine sounds, this is definitely better in that A4 were woefully low in the room mix. JD's banter sounds way better, too. I'll still post mine when I can get it cut up, but I have to cop to the fact that this may be a better bet.

Okay, so I dug around the npr site and found a direct-download mp3 file (one transcode source eliminated), then I used mp3DirectCut to split the files without transcoding. So, this copy I'm posting sounds better but, for some reason, the file does not have Night Light or Spend Gladiator II. They seamlessly cut them out by tacking the banter from the end of Spent Gladiator II to the end of Until I Am Whole. I have no idea why they'd go through the trouble to do that. So, I left it without those two songs since it would take some nasty transcoding to seam it up with the cut songs. I just put nigel's rip of the cut songs in a separate folder in the download.

The background humming and high-pitched whine is much, much quieter in this copy but, again, those two songs are cut.

Fascinating! I'd love to know what went on behind the scenes with that edit.

I'm glad we can get a slightly better recording via direct download mp3 from npr.org, and I'm also glad it was still worth ripping the stream live. Good work, butter!

I finally had time to give it a proper listen. I've listened to bits and pieces here and there, but I had a nice long drive today so I got to sit in my car and listen to the whole thing from intro to end.

Fucking amazing. I've not heard of Anonymous 4 before this, but adding them into the mix for the album preview was just geinus. I love this, and I can't wait for the new album.
