Well, hey everybody.

I'm new.
The interactive internet confuses me, so I'm introducing myself.

I really really like the Mountain Goats.

I'm probably not as worthy of being a fan as you guys. I only have a few albums on vinyl, and nothing rare or special or anything like that.

I saw tMG in concert in Buffalo this past summer, but I didn't get to meet John, my friends did.

Going to Georgia is one of my all-time favorite songs, and I have the lyrics painted on the back of my door. Plus ten cool points, right?

I get shivers every time I listen to Broom People, Linda Blair Was Born Innocent, and so many other songs that I can't even think of them right now, because I know I'll leave some out and be disappointed in myself.

I like the Mountain Goats too. And I only have a few of the albums on vinyl, mostly I have them on cd. I didn't get into the band until the 4AD releases were getting loads of attention, blah de blah. The door sounds pretty cool, you should post a picture or something.

Heyo Real Nice Kid, welcome to the forums. Yeah, the door does sound pretty damn awesome You should post a pic. About "being worthy to be a fan", I personally believe all this fan worthiness business is a load of hooey. We're all fans. That's all that matters.

I couldn't honestly say I got any thrill from youtube footage of a walkman playing that song. Thrilled by the cash it raised but the appearance of Tractor Song from left field knocked ES's emergence into a cocked hat imho.

ETA: I thought at first you might be talking about Pure Milk b.c. that's the only tMG song I've hear that involves tractors.

i was not thrilled. i listened to about 10 seconds then shut it off. there's reasons why he didn't release it way back when.

i didn't like the tractor song either.

AWESOME!!! This song is great!!! Can't believe I didn't notice it. Thanks for posting the link. Does anyone have the lyrics for it? I could get most of it but not all of it. So is this like around Hot Garden Stomp? It sounds slightly later than that. (I'm judging by the quality of JD's singing which just continues to improve throughout most of his career ) Really fantastic lyrics. I find some of the early songs are real gems but others are rather forgettable (at least to me).
