Well, a wonderful Brit who goes by the name of "daley" on the forums made the Hi We're Not the Mountain Goats cover and it was absolutely gorgeous. I think he's a professional album artist. Hahahaha! Glad I'm not the only one. Although, my main reason is that I wanted to wait for my friend who is a much better guitarist than I. I can sing and play the guitar but I'm out of practise. For songs I don't know, it's hard to fully feel what I'm singing if I'm playing the guitar at the same time. That's where she comes in
Also: Holy crap!!! $4,000!!!!!!! That's incredible!!! Guess people really want to see this happen. Tallahassee has definitely always been one of the more popular albums. Also, with AJJ on board, I'm sure even more people are excited to see this happen.

ETA: Hey Blade, don't know if you'll be on sometime tonight but I had a question: If our demo is choosen are you looking for us (which ever musician is picked) to rerecord it or will the "demo" actually be the final song? Been recording all day but in my friend's house so there's some background noises but we had a few "good takes" other than that. If you do want us to rerecord, was there a particular studio you wanted to record at or would we be rerecording on our own?

If we pick your track, we'll definitely ask you to re-record it. The demos are just a placeholder so we can get a vague idea of how you might interpret the song.

Everyone who is picked for the track list will be provided with a small stipend to use on recording, how you do that is up to the artist. If he or she (or they) can travel up to Chicago, I would be happy to record it for him/her/them.

The album is going to be released on November 5th, 2012 as a digital download. I haven't nailed down all the details for that, so stay tuned!

Getting picked would be the biggest thing that'd happened in (T)SOPA's career since almost opening for John Vanderslice.

Yay!!! Glad you submitted. I did too Yeah, um...deciding to up the tempo on Game Shows was a bad idea. Most of the lyrics aren't too hard to sing faster but try to sing "And I handed you a drink of the lovely little thing on which our survival depends" quickly. Almost impossible. Not sure exactly what our tempo was but it was definitely going at a good clip. NEVER doing that again.
ETA:I suppose this decision wasn't completely misguided. The guitar part definitely sounds good faster in my opinion. Argg! hope the speed doesn't count against me since it's just a demo.

On the TT homepage, it says the deadline for submissions was the 20th of December so I'd hazard a guess that the answer is no. But maybe you'll get lucky and Blade will say that he'll still take yours

Not planning on putting one in, actually, just wondering where things stood. Amazing how my post answered my own question though!

I totally missed the deadline to get in on the kickstarter. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I don't really understand kickstarter. Will we be able to purchase the physical album at a later date?
