OH I forgot, for some reason I can't stand Cobra Tattoo. No clue why. It's got all the cool biblical things but listening to it makes me mad? i'm weird

Lonesome Surprise. Just kind of okay but then with the phone guy and the disjointedness it drive me nuts and makes me cringe.

I actually love that song specifically because of that, not really ironically but I find it to be sort of adorably disjointed.

I Wonder Where Our Love Has Gone is the only song I skip everytime. It just drags on for too long. At least I don't have to feel too bad about it since it's not actually a Mountain Goats song.

Taboo haters...have you listened to the actual tape or just the ripped copy floating around on the Internet? The cassette itself has quite a surprise.

You're surprised to be the first to mention Lovecraft in Brooklyn, one of the 10 best Mountain Goats songs? I am not.Quote

I don't enjoy Taboo VI: The Homecoming as an album. I remember hearing a recording of a show where John said that if you're looking to get into tMG, don't bother with Taboo because the "real" first release is The Hound Chronicles (which I adore). On Taboo it's really hard to hear the lyrics and the whole sound just emphasizes the lo-fi nature of the recording. I have a friend who lists Taboo as one of her favorite tMG works, though, so maybe it's just me.
i actually kind of love the album version, but find the live versions i've heard to be a bit too gratingQuote

Hilarious - I was just coming to post this almost word for word as I've been listening to Sweden half the day at work but didn't even get through it once. I think there's a live version I've enjoyed but I can't remember off the top of my head.
ugh lovecraft in brooklyn is sooooo awesome, and i quite like two thousand seasonsQuote

Broom People & California song? shocked to see those named here.
Two Thousand Seasons has to be the worst TMG song by far, if it was meant as more than a joke.
Other than that and some covers (Jandek), Lovecraft in Brooklyn always gets skipped. Surprised i'm the first to mention it
