I thought now was the right time to step up, create an account make my first post in the forums. Having been reading the posts on this forum for some time now I realise that there have been posts on this topic before but what I'm looking for is a little more specific.
I want to get a tMG tattoo, I've thought about it long and hard and it's a commitment I want to make. A love for tMG isn't like a love for Metallica or Justin Beiber, it's forever - I'm sure everyone agrees that they will love their favourite Mountain Goats songs until their dying day!
The issue I have is that I don't know exactly what I would like but I have a few ideas and would like to hear what everyone thinks and maybe get a few ideas for final designs. Here are my options (so far):

- An image of headstones climbing up the hills with or without "The headstones climb up the hills" underneath.
- The jam jar from Jam Eater Blues with or without "The Mountain Goats" or "Jam Eater Blues"
- An image representing going down hand in unloveable hand, again without or without text. (This is the one that would need the most thought as to a final design)
- Just plain old "I hope you die... I hope we both die."

I'd appreciate any and all input on these ideas and any of your own. If anyone has a tMG tattoo that they haven't posted in a forum here then please post it here as I would love to see it!

I have "Dance Music" in script on my ankles. My ex wanted to get a picture of the Earth with rays coming off of it, I thought it was a pretty cool idea, and the jam jar is a rad idea too.

i briefly considered getting the words "volume knob, not headphones" in JD's handwriting as shown here [www.theatlantic.com] somewhere on my body. and then i thought, you're almost 40, no more tattoos for you.

So this may or may not be a horrible idea, I am definitely planning to get "I AM LOSING CONTROL OF THE LANGUAGE AGAIN" tattooed in tall skinny letters on the underside of one arm, or spread out over both arms.
I dunno, does that sound cool or dumb?

Wild Creature that is an awesome idea for a tattoo, I say just go for it!
And Broom Person that sounds amazing too, I'd just go for it on the one arm if it was me though!

I am planning to get a tMG tattoo at the end of this summer. I was diagnosed with lupus right around the time Moon Colony Bloodbath came out, and the song 'Sudden Oak Death' basically describes exactly how I felt for a really long time (until the meds started making me feel better). J.D. tweeted @ me once telling me I was right about the song being about living with chronic illness, so I plan to get a defoliated oak tree on my back with one single oak leaf falling and the words "when the crack sounds in the wood..." underneath it. I'm really fucking excited for it!

Well it's not exactly Mountain Goats based, but like John Darnielle, I am a vegetarian, so I have a tattoo on the inside of my wrist of the "certified vegetarian" V... of course, you'd want to be pretty certain it's something you firmly stand for before permanently inking the image into your skin. Hahh.

GET THE TATTOO!

TMG tattoos are considered as a good form of art work. Recently, my friend got a TMG tattoo on his left shoulder. He used the service of local tattoos making artist. But a good aftercare is needed for reducing the ink fading problem.
