Also, it seems Wikipedia backs me up, if that's worth anything

(which it isn't)

Well,it does back you up, but more importantly it mentions/links to the Oxo Cubans who totally rock. And wrote the Tim Tam Slam song...So, yeah...maybe tea...but I'm still going with coffee as a personal choice.
February 27, 2007 05:11AM | Re: Question from John for MG People
I find that neither coffee nor Tim Tams last long enough for me to have both at the same time.

My mother bought me a pack of Romany Creams for my birthday. I can only hope to grow up to be that cool.
February 27, 2007 06:03AM | Re: Question from John for MG People
Yeah, the Tim Tams that Campbell and Grace sent us didn't even last long enough for me to LEARN ABOUT the Tim Tam Slam!
February 27, 2007 09:43AM | Re: Question from John for MG People
USA peeps who live near a World Market store might be interested to know that they started selling Tim Tams last year, under the name "Arnott's". They had three kinds: regular, double coat, and caramel.
February 27, 2007 10:41AM | Re: Question from John for MG People
color me there. i would happily donate to charity for a rousing rendition of 'family happiness.'

Lobby them to stock the dark chocolate ones. You won't regret it.

Or ask someone in Aus to send you some. ;-)

I live in Canada, and would probably be quite willing to drop everything, and get to this show anyway possible.
February 28, 2007 12:54PM | Re: Question from John for MG People
i'm definitely definitely (times infinity) there.
February 28, 2007 01:55PM | Re: Question from John for MG People
Holy Fudge!!! That sounds like soooooo much fun. Count me in.
February 28, 2007 09:55PM | Re: Question from John for MG People
I would, but since i live in arizona and have no means of transportation, i couldnt =(
February 28, 2007 10:18PM | Re: Question from John for MG People
That sounds like a great idea. I am from SoCal but will be at Cornell next year, so Upstate New York would be an excellent location if the event is close to the start of summer break.
February 28, 2007 10:25PM | Re: Question from John for MG People
I'm in Berkeley, but I might be getting a free trip to new york for work this summer. Either way, I'd fucking show. It wouldn't be teh hippy, it would be teh fucking awesome.

And I'd bring like 5 people with me also. Even if they had to stuff themselves into my luggage.
March 01, 2007 02:12AM | Re: Question from John for MG People
Tell me when and where and i am all there!!!!! I hope this pans out.
March 01, 2007 02:15AM | Re: Question from John for MG People
Im sure we would all have to know when and where awhile ahead of time so we can prepare.Money, transportation and the like...but other than that it sounds awesome.Have you ever heard of put in bay? It's an island on lake erie.In the summer its a great place to be.They have a campground and a nice downtown area where all the pubs are...check into it.Not really all that far from new york..
March 01, 2007 08:32AM | Re: Question from John for MG People
I have a really very specific idea for this thing and will let everybody know about it if it turns out to be do-able - am planning on looking into it either between tours or after I get back from Scandinavia.
March 01, 2007 09:07AM | Re: Question from John for MG People

I think provided there's enough notice, I would be willing and able to do this

(And maybe it'd be a good time to do that LPTJ-related thing some of us have been talking about as well?)

john you just (by just i mean 8 days ago) solidified yourself as the coolest non-overtly hippie hippie on earth. i would be there for sure.

i agree with others - far from nyc (like say - outside of burington, vermont)

maybe there is a place near fort Ticonderoga that would work?!
March 02, 2007 03:01PM | Re: Question from John for MG People
I've promptly slammed the brakes down on all my summer plans and have taken to holding my breath for word on whether or not this is really going to happen. I hope John announces a date before I pass out.

I'm in. I'll work on chartering a bus from Seattle if need be for all the non-flyers like me. I love the charity aspect of it too -- I know a sweet little non-profit it Seattle that deals with area artists of all disciplines who are uninsured and facing life (and pontially carreer-altering) illnesses/injuries who'd love to work with you on it, espcially if you did it locally.

And, Oregon and Washington are loaded with state parks that have work-for-rent programs so you could take over an incredible piece of land for a week and the faithful could do trail work, critter counts and the like to cover the costs.

I'm in Iowa but have family in the Rochester area and friends in the Buffalo area and my wife and I are spending three summer weeks in the Western NY/Southern Ontario zone - last week in July, first two weeks in August. So if it falls in that timeframe, we will join the temporary hippieness.

I would be there without question. I'll even share my tent.
March 03, 2007 02:17PM | Re: Question from John for MG People
I would love to come, and depending on when it is, I might be able to make it, although it's not highly likely.
March 03, 2007 03:51PM | Re: Question from John for MG People
I'm in So. Cal but it sounds awesome enough that I might be able to swing the ticket.

BTW, Cracker/Camper van Beethoven have been something similar out at Pioneertown in Yucca Valley for the past 2 years, and I think it's been a success for them. (Though they charge and they have a whole slate of bands, not including the 12 or so made of Camper/Cracker members.)
