Mountain Goats tab request thread!

October 07, 2007 12:47PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
Black Molly, anybody? I haven't been playing for very long, and the recording is fuzzy anyway, so I can't really pick up on the chords on my own.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
October 07, 2007 04:45PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
i've always played Black molly

G C D
G C D
Em C D

G C D
You were in town again
G C D
You'd come around again
G C D
You were dragging me down again
G C D
Dragging me right down with you!

and so on.

but i think there might be a D7 in there somewhere. regardless, that sounds fine to me.

Request: Counting Song for Bitter Children
October 29, 2007 08:15PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
Trick Mirror:

E repeated for awhile and then B - A.
then E B E.

It's tuned down half a step on the recording, but this should work.

y'know, i don't want this thread to die!

so:
jam eater blues!!

also, does anyone think that a "tabs wanted" list on the bottom of the tabs wiki would work? that way, maybe people who know songs but don't browse these forums could share their tabiness with us?

...just a thought.

it was actually 2 7"s btw and the mastering date was 5/1, I cancelled it this a.m.
This is why you should be nice to everyone.

jam eater blues, as far as i remember is just E A and B.

a 'tabs wanted' section sounds like a great idea to me, somebodies gonna have to mention that to nall.

I have more songs to add, how do I add a page to the wiki?
November 06, 2007 03:11PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
I'm just figuring this out myself so there might be a better way, but sign up for an account, and then on the main page click 'edit this page' put in the name of your song, save it. go to the main page and click on the link for your song that you just created, it should be a blank page that you can fill out.

I did a cover of this recently (see the covers thread), and used F, Bb and C. You should be able to figure out what goes where from there.

Having trouble with making out the guitar to Cow Song on that video, but I'm still working on it.
As for Counting Song For Bitter Children, it sounds like
D--------Asus
One two, I don't love you
G-----------D--aAsus
Three four, anymore

Asus is just like a regular A major chord, but you move the note on the B string up to the third fret.

Just nitpicking, but San Diego sounds alot more like Dsus4 than D6.

If you believe it's correct, then please, throw it up there. Lots of songs on there are slightly incorrect, I'd really like to see them all perfected as the wiki grows.

How about "Alibi"? It's posted on the wiki, but it's a bit of a mess and I couldn't figure out how to make it sound right (on my keyboard, mind you).

as best as i can do without guitar:

for the verses:
E - C#m - A - F#m - B

for the chorus/outro:
E - A - E - B

I'm 90% sure that's how I play it. But I don't have a guitar with me, otherwise I'd figure out better... but, yeah, I think that's it.
