Mountain Goats tab request thread!

September 06, 2010 08:49PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
Has anyone looked at my tabs yet? Do they sound right?
November 12, 2010 03:32PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
any extra lens tabs anywhere? googling is fruitless.

that site has some, if you CTRL+F your desires.

Man, i wish i could do that in real life...

I tried playing How I Left The Ministry earlier and though the chords sound right, I think the intro riff is wrong. I think I'm close to getting it right, though, so if I do I'll update the tab.

Can't find "Going to Monaco" but no luck. Anyone have a clue?

i may have missed this over the earlier posts which i am going through now, but has anybody got a tab/chords for "new britain" off full force galesburg?
December 17, 2010 12:29PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
New Britain should be on themountaingoats.net tab section.
December 18, 2010 12:53PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
It is. (I put it there.)

I don't think that "Butter Teeth" ever got tabbed. It isn't on the Wiki. It would be fantastic if someone did that one!

I'm stuck at home for the third day in a row thanks to snow and then a power outage on the subway. Here's "Butter Teeth": [www.themountaingoats.net]

Okay, so this isn't a tMG song, but this is probably the best available place for me to ask. Anyway, I've really tried and failed to figure out Franklin Bruno's "Professionals in Cancun." Any help?

(If you don't have the album, there's still an excellent radio session version posted here)

I've been trying to figure out Transmissions To Horace/Bitter Melon Farm version of "No, I Can't" for the longest time. The tab available is the Songs For Peter Hughes version and it's off at best, no offense to whomever posted it.

"No, I Can't": [www.themountaingoats.net]

"Professionals in Cancun", as performed on KSPC:
Intro:
E - E6 A - A6
Verse:
(G# A E - E6 A - A6) x2
G# A C#m F#7 F#m B

End of 2nd verse ("I'm pressing the flesh..." ):
F#m D7 F#m B

Bridge:
Bm A G#m C#m
Bm A C#m F#7 B

You should be able to piece together the rest.

Uh... don't know how I missed that. *slaps forehead*

No wonder I hadn't figured it out, I'm usually tuned to standard. Thanks.

Yeah, if it's an old song, chances are that John's guitar is accidentally tuned down a half or whole step (sometimes more).

No problem, guys.

Wonderful! Well. Not being trapped in your house. But it's a great tab. Thank you.

Currently working on/Looking for "Warm, Lonely Planet," "Dogs of Clinic 17" and a few of the new songs from the Sir Arne's Treasure show, would appreciate any help or if anyone has already done these... having a bit of trouble figuring out the key for WLP. sad smiley
January 01, 2011 11:58AM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
warm lonely planet seems to be

Am for the intro

(F Am)x3 G for the verses

and F C G Am, F C G F Am for the bridge
January 01, 2011 01:36PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
I'll type up "Dogs of Clinic 17" when I get the time.
January 01, 2011 04:25PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
just gonna say my peace then shut up:

in my opinion, tabbing out portions of the "sir arne's treasure" score as individual songs (when they are officially unreleased, and only sort of songs*) seems pretty antithetical to their author's repeated public statements about his work. you can obviously mess around with playing them all you like, but posting them publicly seems pretty gauche to me.

*obviously some actual (written as-such and subsequently released (or refused release)) songs were integrated into the score, but it seems likely john would consider the material in the suite to be, to use a fine arts term, "site-specific."

i just sit here in my cave and absorb your facts and figures.

Thanks whiskey, that's pretty much what I was playing but it sounded a bit off to me for some reason -.-

Looking forward to that lincoln, I'm not much of an electric guy.

@blackliner Fine then, wanted to give something in return to ^these two^ but I'll keep that stuff to myself I guess :/
January 29, 2011 11:24PM | Re: Mountain Goats tab request thread!
I just posted three new tabs if anyone was interested.
