i have already said that my bid will be the equal of the sum i have already donated to japanese relief (with nothing provided in return, not even a tote bag), but that donation was through red cross and not doctors without borders. i like doctors without borders so i'm happy to donate to them. if JD was auctioning this off for profit (which i do not believe he would do), i would not bid more than i would bid for any collectible, and this tape would not be worth more than a hundred bucks or so.

by the way, to correct a fallacy, i am not some uber-rich fat cat. i make a decent living and i donate a percentage of my income every year to charity. so the numbers here may seem high, but it has little to do with the tape, really, as this money would get donated to a worthy cause at some point in the year regardless. again, if JD was auctioning for profit, my bids would not be coming from the funds i allot to charity, and my bid would be significantly lower.


original amount + the same amount again for tape = signifacantly more than orignal sum
I wasn't calling you or anyone out there, i was trying to show that the tape matters alot more than you guys let on.

I think you should let it go. WC just said he gives an alloted amount every year. This has just made him decide where some of it might go. He also said hs likes DWB.
