y'know, with the speed these emails are coming in, who knows, we might be able to do this earlier because all the songs will be selected to go in the lottery!

i just e-mailed everyone who picked a song that was already thrown into the mix. below is a list of the songs that are still up for selection. once again, you will not be performing the song you select. there seems to be a number of people who e-mailed who wanted to do the song they requested. you will be randomly assigned another song, you may not be comfortable with the song you get, but that's part of the fun, trust me

other notes, i do want to clarify that as SWV mentioned early in the thread, no, these are not 'for sale', everything is essentially a donation to FS. you don't HAVE to donate to FS to get one. participants will be sent/receive one automatically, but it's strongly encouraged to donate something to FS - the last project is what enabled us to donate a sizable lump sum donation to a great organization.

i'll post more info, etc as it comes to mind.

edit: oh yeah, someone asked about artist names. the only thing that will appear on the artwork is what you request your assigned song be credited to. if you'd prefer your full name, that's what will appear, or your band name, whatever you want.

yet another edit: i know it's early, but i wanted to cover some audio ground with you guys first, because i know it's gonna come up, and when the time comes, i don't want to forget to put my two cents on this particular issue. in the past, there's been the discussion about submitting lossless/.wav files as opposed to mp3 files. while i personally always record right to .wav and compress to mp3, keeping both files, i don't know how everyone else records their own music. so, either format will be accepted - mp3s can be sent directly to my e-mail, but wav files are obviously too large. if you're going to be recording in wav, i need you to upload it to a filesharing service (mediafire, sendspace, whatever the kids are using these days) and send me a link. i am not an audiophile and will freely admit that i do not have the ear to distinguish between a lossless wav and a compressed 320kbps MP3, so in my eyes, MP3 is fair game. if you want to strive for perfect audio fidelity, there are a number of people on here who will assuredly help out in the process of recording a lossless file and submitting it via link to me. AGAIN, i know it's totally early, we don't even have our songs yet, but i wanted to get this out in the open for a potential discussion as to avoid any delays while we ponder the complexities of lossless audio. links vs direct attachments, either way is fine with me and just as easy, but if anyone wants to get into the pros and cons, now would be the time. as long as you're not submitting me a 64k realaudio file, i have no qualms against how you do your business.

Glad to see this starting up again! Lucky for me I have a friend I can work with to possibly create something worth contributing. First time recording anything. this is gonna be fun.

Yeah, we are doing tMG covers. That being said, you can be as creative as you wish. Different instruments, arrangements, you could do harmonies, whatevs floats your boat!

When you sign up, you pick a "Going to..." song that hasn't been picked yet (scroll up to the list on this page - pick one that's not already crossed out). That will be assigned at random to someone who is also taking part.
