yeah that post bothers me a lot.

i can only speak from my own perspective, but the reason i post here isn't to garner praise, it's to share with like-minded people my passion for john's music. one of the ways i engage with his music is to learn to play it myself. if i say something self-deprecating, which i probably too often do, it's not a disingenuous attempt to have someone counter it with compliments, it's because i honestly feel that way. when i post a cover it feels like i'm walking a fine line between coming off as just trying to share something that means something to me and succumbing to some narcissistic impulse. if you don't like the thread, our music, or the way we present ourselves you can fuck right off.

So I was playing around with a few tMG songs, browsing the tabs collection, seeing what I'd be able to perform, and I figure I'd try "Ezekiel 7 And The Permanent Efficacy of Grace". But of course, the tab author specifies that it must be played with a capo, which pretty much renders it unusable for us amateur Casio-ists. Full of irk, I try to see if I can figure out the chords for myself instead, but I don't think I got it quite right.

oh my fuck i'm gonna murder my microphone. it does this thing where halfway through the song it goes fuzzy and i have to replug it in to fix it. but it's done it 4 times in a row now trying to record this fucking song and my wrist is worn out from all the bar chords.

and on that note, this is as good as it's gonna get.
