Fantastic cover of a great song that I don't think gets enough cred.

Agreed. Does it make anyone else visualize the end of Casablanca, or is that just me?

I make videos for the interwebs. Click to taste the insanity.
My band has a Facebook. This is the link.

Done a couple of this one already, but it's an old favourite and easy enough to play and I wanted to try out my new Casio PT-80 keyboard.

ha ha that's pretty sweet. the more treble-y synth part reminds me of Sim City 2000 music... in a good way.
November 22, 2011 11:44AM | Re: Covers
flytrap is great too. reminds me of grandaddy?
November 29, 2011 11:29AM | Re: Covers
Thanks mate. I really apreciate that. Grandaddy and SimCity 2000! I take those both as major compliments.

Tahitian Ambrosia Maker

So this is the first song I learned by tMG, and it's the first song I've played enough takes of to get a recording. Playing this one for friends who never listen to the band is great- they're usually very confused.

Oh no you didn't!

Oh yes I DID!

Not surprisingly, I was just too indie to be picked for the Tallahassee Turns Ten project. Ah well. Might as well share it here, then.

My contribution: Idylls Of The King. The vocals aren't terribly good, probably needs some mixing or re-recording overall, but I thought it turned out okay-ish.

Plus, one I didn't send in.

I also sent in my older cover of See America Right, but that one went early to Jeffrey Lewis.

Did it actually say you were "too indie" in your email or did you just assume that? smiling smiley I thought Blade sent out one mass email. I really liked the instrumentation for your Idylls of the King. I'm not sure what you used but I like the distortion (which I assume was probably just through lo-fi recording equipment? winking smiley

No, it didn't, unfortunately. That was just me making a joke. And thank you! Yup, the distortion is all natural, all organic, made by plugging my Casio SA-35 into the microphone input on my computer and having the volume set too high. Plus some added reverb in Audacity. Pretty much the same as I did with Going To Buffalo on the last forum compilation.
