Same here.
I don't see anything that could come off as dissapointing in that song.

i've just been going back through and reading this entire thread and i don't think i can get through the first few pages without crying so i'm just going to stop. best songs everrrr getting dissed! i really hope john never read this, or that if he did he doesn't let it effect future songwriting.

i'm not going to say what my least favorites are, because i don't want to offend anyone, and i know that some that i've never fallen in love with are most people's absolute favorites.

Ironically I find the best way to appreciate lo-fi is with a really good pair of headphones, at least for the first few listens through an album.

Also, Lovecraft in Brooklyn is probably the weakest song on Heretic Pride.

I have a weird relationship with "We Have Seen the Enemy." I hate it but I love it at the same time. I find John's long notes in that song to be far too harsh for my ears but I really like what he's doing with the long held out notes. The drone that comes from long notes kind of mesmerizes me. I think the notes sound better when a soprano sings them. I really like the spoken word part at the beginning too.

I love it because I think it's hillarious.

Maybe you shouldn't organize your tMG alphabetically by album?

I have the albums almost chronological order (The three comps are after the three cassettes) with the EP's and everything else after (I make favorite artist playlists).

I can't take "So Desperate" for longer than five seconds. Used to be that way with pretty much any song John sang in a higher register, but I slowly got used to them. It took me a long time to start liking anything after Tallahassee because I am a massive poser.

I don't think people dislike Golden Boy per se. I think it's just that most of us haven't even listened to that song and probably would never think to do so... unless it was introduced to us at a concert?

and i think most of us have pretty bad memory, so to ensure that we actually remember it, i think its probably best to play it at every single show on the next tour?
