When I first got into the band there wasn't much in the way of downloads and the mall didn't carry any of John's albums. I ended up emailing John to find out where I could get his stuff. I was young and impaitent and in the nicest way John pointed out that half the fun of collecting music is the collecting part. He urged me to use the yellow pages to find record stores and hunt for them. He was totally right. Now it is a lot easier to find stuff online, you can find almost anything. Flex that Google-fu! I bet it will feel a whole lot better and sound sweeter after the search than if someone just emails you a torrent link of everything.

I believe JD's point on the OOP but still legit-released stuff (like All Survivor's Pack) is that JD feels like there are certain things that are more exciting because they are limited--take, for example, his propensity for doing the "I'm going to do this once and only here and only for the people in the room and that's it" type of live show. You can agree or disagree with that if you like, but as it's his stuff it's also kind of his call. i wouldn't even be so sure of that. aside from Bride, I've not got 'em (i never thought to ask, to be honest!) and i've been here a little while now, so others who joined around my time (or after) and actively contribute are probably song-less as well.

Also pretty explicit, so don't try to act like your intent was taken the wrong way. You meant what you said, and I'm sure many people get music from JD and other artists the same way. Coming and asking about it/for it on his own site that he pays to host, though, is really lame, if may paraphrase what he's said in the past.
